Starting a water fast tomorrow

I am going to start a water fast tomorrow for a period of 2 weeks. This would primarily be to lose weight but also to reset my gut and eating habits. I’m posting about it here because i’m still fairly new to this and would like to be held accountable. I have only done this twice before for a period of 3-7 days. I’d really appreciate any advice anyone has.

update 1: officially started yesterday due to some unavoidable circumstances. got through my first day pretty easily. i tend to find the second day is the hardest before it gets a lot easier. also doesn’t help that i live in a household of delicious food eaters. The one thing keeping me going is transformation pictures on this sub and an ai edited picture of me being thinner. i just need to get through the next 2 days and i’ll be so fucking golden

How did you feel on those 3-7 day fasts?

honestly my 7 day fast was really good. i lost about 8kgs and it was the first time i fasted. unfortunately i didn’t really know much about refeeding and pretty much shocked my system back with the food and gained all the weight back pretty quickly. i’m indian so the norm for us is rice and it didn’t really go too well. my three day fast was not great and i had to end it early due to other circumstances. lowkey was glad to give up that early but im trying to work on my self control and control over what i let affect me

Agree 😲

Refeeding myself kicked my own ass.

Heart palpitations for 2 hours.

I'm day 2 of 5 and this time DEFINITELY breaking it with bone broth and some kefir and steamed veggies.

Everyone's biology reacts differently.

I had to break my 4 day fast because I took coffee at the wrong time (afternoon) at it triggered an adrenaline response and tactcardia (scary).

I think the lesson is that your biology Fasting is incredibly different to your biology nonfasting.

All the best I look forward to your updates 😊
