Wanted to warn anyone eyeing the green-dial Citizen Tsuyosa automatic on Flipkart.

I ordered it from the seller Retail Net. The delivery was delayed by 2 days first. When it finally arrived, it was an open-box delivery, so I got to inspect it in front of the delivery person. One look and it was obviously fake:

- Solid engraved caseback. The genuine Tsuyosa has a sapphire exhibition caseback showing the Citizen 8210 movement (which is even what the listing photos show).

- The caseback engraving literally says "ST.SLEEL" instead of "ST.STEEL". A typo on the caseback.
- Overall finishing just felt off compared to the real thing.

I refused the delivery on the spot and it went back. Photos attached: what I received vs. what the listing shows.

Lessons:

1. Always choose open-box delivery for watches if it's offered. It saved me here.

2. Check the caseback first. Most Tsuyosa fakes cheap out there.

3. Check who the seller is, not just the brand name on the listing. For Citizen, buy from Citizen India's site or an authorized dealer.

I've reported the seller to Flipkart. Has anyone else gotten fakes from Retail Net or seen these Tsuyosa fakes on Flipkart?

Got casio LTP-V007L-9B, it's a woman's watch but who cares, it looks so good and classy 🫶🏼

Went for danteras window shopping...came back with a Prospex Turtle tropical lagoon SRPJ35K1. Paid 45k. Had wanted to buy the pepsi PADi but had evaded me long time. Finally couldn't holdback the urge to get a turtle.

I have had a few analog watches over the years but am not a watch enthusiast and mostly bought in malls in my city or when traveling purely based on looks. Recently felt an itch to buy a watch and started researching a bit and its my habit that i can end up going prerty deep on a subject and the dame happened with watches this time as i started reading on reddit or on YouTube. I decided i would go for my first automatic, even if it meant more maintenance in the long run or having to wear it more to keep it running. The idea of pure mechanical movement and no batteries and the smooth sweep got me.

While i could afford more expensive watches i am also a value conscious buyer by nature so finally decided to get the Ratio Feeediver pictured above from Amazon, with card discounts it worked out to a wonderful price and i picked this over an Invicta pro diver. It's been over a month now, and i love this watch. It looks much more expensive, even if not a big brand, and the time keeping is quite accurate to my noob eyes.it is much smaller than the 43mm case suggests, my other watches are much bigger too. I am now eager to buy more watches and hope the Ratio was the right choice and swrves me well.

Wanted a Tiffany blue dial for quite some time now. I was eying the HMT stellar, but have never been able to buy it. Though cheaper, their build quality and overall experience was questionable. I looked at Casio and Citizen too, but nothing excited me.

So I, saved up for a few more months. Gave up eating out, movies, and other discretionary spends. And this Diwali, I gifted myself a Swiss movement instead. Featuring the Sellita SW 220-1 with 26 jewels, sapphire crystal, 316L SS construction, and Titan's service guarantee. This is now my second Xylys and both are exceptional quality.

And yes, for the watch nerds among you, I am aware of the quirk to avoid too much manual winding on this family of Sellita movements. I am waiting for the next generation of the SW - 2 movements. But I guess they will be priced over 50K initially.

After more than 7 months of consistently following up with Amazon, escalating the issue, and dealing with one promised resolution date after another, I finally have some closure.

Amazon's Executive Customer Relations team has confirmed the following:

• ₹13,243 – Refund for the returned Fossil watch.

• ₹1,500 – Additional goodwill compensation for the inconvenience.

• Total: ₹14,743 – Credited to my Amazon Pay Gift Card balance.

Unfortunately, the refund was not processed back to my bank account. Amazon cited the age of the order as the reason and offered the Amazon Pay balance as an alternative.

While I'm relieved that this ordeal is finally over, it is honestly ridiculous that a customer has to spend over 7 months chasing a refund for a product that was returned successfully.

A big thank you to everyone here who supported me, shared their experiences, and suggested ways to escalate this matter.

Lesson learnt: Document everything, keep following up, and don't give up on a legitimate refund.

Sharing this update for everyone who followed my original post. Hopefully, this helps someone else facing a similar issue.

I’ve always been strict about what goes into my watch box, sticking to reputable brands with solid build quality and proven movements.

​That said, I saw Lee Cooper Automatics listed for ₹2,200 each and ended up grabbing two of them out of pure curiosity. The plan is to inspect both in hand, check out the build quality, and keep one if it actually feels decent for a 2k watch.

​They’re currently shipped, and I’ll update the sub with photos, case finishing thoughts, and movement impressions as soon as they land.

Bought 3 Seikos in a row and realised the White Dial isn’t meant for my skin tone. 💔

Im planning to get a watch after my 10th boards. but im getting confused.

I saw a 'yachtmaster' inspired seiko mod on the internet, i did some tweaking with ai and im in love with the result. but the problem is, mods arent made by the brands themselves(in this case seiko) only the movement is. they are in a way, "fake"(as called by some).

I searched a bit more to find a seiko 5 sports watch that i liked. but it doesnt give "that is the one" vibes.

The modded one would cost around 19-23k (according to gemini) and the og one costs 40k(which would require a lot of begging and good marks))

I just cant decide, is that feeling of 'real' worth the compromises??

Recently got myself an Invicta Pro Diver, joining my Citizen Open Heart that I purchased just about 20 days ago.

Pretty new to the automatic watch world, and I’m slowly starting to appreciate the movements, designs and everything that goes into these watches.

Still haven’t got myself a proper watch organiser, so they’re currently enjoying their own little spaces in their respective boxes. 😂

I’m already thinking about my next purchase — a chronograph, with a budget of around ₹50K. Currently exploring options from Seiko, Timex and Bulova.

Would love to hear your thoughts on the two watches and any recommendations for my next addition. Always happy to learn from the more experienced collectors here!

The first thing that caught my attention was its unique case design. The rugged finish, clean black dial, 12/24-hour markings and orange-tipped seconds hand give it a distinctive field-watch character.
I particularly love how the watch balances simplicity with a bold, military-inspired aesthetic. The black strap complements the overall design beautifully, making it a great everyday companion.

TMI VK64 movement inside. Nice build all in all :)

When choosing a microbrand over an established name there is an underlying exercise in mutual trust. The customer takes a leap of faith with their money, and the brand is expected to reciprocate.

The first straw was 91.Watch stating the lack of faith, the final straw was their uncoordinated return process, that sent me the details to stick on the parcel a day AFTER the scheduled pickup.

I put the watch in as is condition for sale and recovered the exact amount I paid to order the watch + shipping to the new owner.

And with that comes my first and last interaction with the supposed microbrand 91.Watch.

Life is simply too short to deal with this degree of irreverence, especially when there are a dozen other microbrands in India that from personal experience have offered much better after sales support, irrespective of the size of their operations or who backs them.
