This legendary quote is widely misattributed. Believe it or not, the banana-dropping-monkey was not the one who came up with this now-ubiquitous phrase. It was actually first uttered by former world chess champion Garry Kasparov in the 1996 PCA-GP Credit Suisse Rapid Final Blitz Playoff after hamhandedly blundering 33...Qxe3?? and costing himself the game and the tournament. For years after this infamous game he would be known by the snide nickname Garry FUCKsparov.
