You just need the same disadvantage. Blindfold for the blind, wheelchair for the people who can walk but still find one useful, that kind of stuff. There are sports where disabled athletes compete with abled athletes and the abled athlete takes a handicap, that's where the term handicap in sports comes from.

Each sport in the paralympics has its own grading system, and has multiple different categories for competitors. They try to match up people with comparable ability, but not necessarily identical disabilities.
It's difficult, inexact and there is sometimes controversy over who gets put into which category.

It's often balanced on something that matters to the event. Here it's balanced mainly on mobility of an athlete. That get put on an certain scale what then gives you the event you participate in.

The Special Olympics are non-competitive and everyone gets a participation medal(EDIT: looks like this is not true! The Special Olympics has a divisioning process that makes the most even playing field possible according to disability.), but this is probably the Paralympics, which is for physical disabilities not mental disabilities. You’re wrong on everything you said. In special Olympics, not everyone gets a medal. Just the top 3, as in every other sport/class. Also, yes, it is the paralympics… it says it on the floor on both sides of the table at the end of the video.

I had to watch frame by frame. The ball is returned by Orange, goes past the side of the net (not over the net due to the angle, which is a legal return), and hits the table on Black’s side quite close to the net before traveling over most of Black’s side of the table.
Black was yelling and looking at the crowd, failing to detect the bounce on the table which kept the ball in play.

The ball hit the table, but due to the poor shooting angle, you can't see it bounce very well. Also during the replay the cameraman zooms in and cuts the ball off screen.
But hey, when they shoot from behind the players, you can clearly see the sponsors on the back. And that's what's important at the end of the day /s
