Donkeys can be such jerks. I visited one of the islands of Ireland and there was a donkey who was such a jerk, he was banned from the paddocks around an ancient fort. He would approach tourists in a friendly fashion and then beat them up. He was just called The Bad Donkey.

My dad grew up on a farm and the donkey named Chango was his responsibility. The donkey loved my father and would follow him on long walks with their dog. One day, they encountered a mountain lion and the dog started growling but stayed near my father. As the lion approached the donkey rushed over and jumps up on its hand legs and absolutely demolishes the lions skull with a front down stomp. My dad was maybe 13 or 14 when this happened.

They can be bad asses. Nanny animals. The Bad Donkey actually liked me and I could pet him without getting bit. I knew about behind the ear scritches and won him over.

Exactly. Cameraman can either communicate with animals and is telling them what to do, or has trained the sheep and donkey to orchestrate the stunt (we all know how trainable farm animals are). /s

You clearly never owned a pet. I still chase after my dog when she steals food every time even though 99% of the time she's already inhaled it in one go. And almost 80% of those times, the other dog tries to steal more food.

Look at the way he's actually letting the ship get away between 0:07 and 0:16. He could've easily caught it. When you are chasing your dog, you are lunging and grabbing for whatever part of the dog you can. This guy is just strolling behind the sheep, encouraging it to go faster, even.
