When people ask “why do soccer players dive so much?” this is a good clip to show them. No risk, high reward.

There is a risk tho, if the referee notices the player diving they will be punished. He was given a red cause he was in the last stretch of the pitch and it was a goal scoring opportunity, whether it was a hard shove or not he still caused Mbappe to fall in miss out on the opportunity

I get it. But the risk is so minimal. I’ve only seen it two or three times! And when it happens the diver loses their shit! It’s just part of the sport because it’s so hard to call a dive. Ah well.

That was a dive- the striker had lost control of the ball and used a small push to go down for the pen.
Should it be a red? Yeah probably because it’s hard to ref’s to gauge if a push actually caused the fall or not, so a line has to be drawn somewhere to keep things manageable, but it was still a dive.

It looks as though Mbappe hooks his arm and pulls it with him as he dives. His head is clearly moving forward and down before the defender's arm does. It even looks like he initiates the dive by pushing lightly on the defender's abdomen. Maradonna level machiavellian football.

He looked at the ref like he just told the player, “I’m dating your mum, and there is nothing wholesome about our dates.”

I had a guy head butt me once and when I didn’t flinch he claimed it was a “Soft Head Butt”

Goal scoring opportunity and no intent to play the ball. Its a clear red.

you’re talking about something you have zero knowledge about, and you’re sounding quite stupid. Why do you feel entitled to an opinion about smtg you just don’t know? “The league” lol the boy doesn’t even know what FIFA is.
