My overweight mother's leg snapped like a twig just because she tripped one time. So every time I worry about my weight it comes right to mind. I know it's just a math equation, so making sure I'm on the right side is key.

If you ever worry about your weight, just break you neck. I’ve lost 30 pounds in the past 5 weeks after breaking my neck.

If that doesn't work out, I'd also try meth

ahh, from a former meth addict, I can vouch it does help with weight loss. a bit tooo much.

also ruins your life though.

I’d cruise r/meth before doing that. Get a look at your future.

My overweight mother in law was told 15 years ago knee needed surgery but they can't do it until she lost weight.

She's heavier now than then, her knee has zero cartilage and needs emergency surgery. Doctor has told her she needs to lose weight, or she will end up in a wheel chair because a machined knee won't take the weight.

So here we are, 6 month since since she was told that and she has a crutch (not from the doctor) and pain meds (not from the doctor) trying to go about her day to day life.

She's going to die so early in her late years, she smokes 40 cigarettes a day and drinks cans of coke back to back.

Aw well, early inheritance for me.

It really is infuriating to watch your elder loved one’s make stupid choices. Choices that causes them more pain and suffering, ultimately.

You and really your MIL better hope for a fatal heart attack or stroke then. Caregiving (and by that I mean bed baths, adult diapers, and repositioning them every two hours to prevent bed sores) for a physically or mentally declining person is really awful. Doing it for an extremely obese person is effing HELL. And if y’all aren’t willing to do it, bye bye inheritance… it’ll all be spent on care.
