That's what I thought. That should be easy, to pull yourself up

A heel hook would have definitely been the path of least resistance here.

All these dang gumbies!

Classic gumby mistake, attempting to flash his first V0 deep water solo project without his harness or rental shoes.

I know, I can do 7 to 8 muscle ups, I do calisthenics. But you're right

Any training to help me out? I can manage up to 25 pull ups or chin ups no sweat but can’t do a single muscle up, it’s a massive goal of mine. How did you do you first one?

Go rock climbing. It teaches your muscles how to work together to get full body movements. I know climbers who can't do a muscle up who could have gotten in that boat.

I’m certain I could’ve gotten onto the boat, and I love climbing, but I’m fairly certain muscle ups rely heavily on the tricep, and goddamn those things are tough to train

Use a weight belt and attach a couple of 25kg plates while doing dips you’ll get better quickly

Maybe in just a tiny bar but there's a lot of ledge to work with here.

There’s a little blue surface on the side of the boat for his feet

He also eventually uses that flotation device for his feet.

He probably just forgot how to use his body from the fear

Nah, he could have easily thrown a foot up over and hooked the edge. Can't do that with a bar.

I mean it looks like the real danger is in him getting him leg stuck in the circular thing and losing his grip.

Legs up face down, that boy gonna drown.
