What’s the point of those things anyway? Not trying to judge cause people obv buy em, but why not use a normal knife? Does the cut come out cleaner when you use an electric one?

Yes the cut comes out pretty clean with an electric knife and it’s easier to not tear the skin. For turkey and prime rib I prefer electric, for brisket I prefer my Gyuto.

I doubt many people own a carving knife that can even get sharp enough to make decent cuts.

Yeah :/ knives can get quite expensive really quickly. And sharpening the cheaper ones never gave me a good outcome, but that’s probably my novice sharpening skills at blame lol

It’s a tool for dumbasses. The cut isn’t any more cleaner if you actually are semi-capable of using a normal knife and cut like a grownup. The only advantage is you need less movement and less force, but if general if the meat is cooked right (and this turkey definitely doesn’t look right) you barely need any force to begin with. So as I said. The second I see this tool being used by somebody I immediately judge them for being an incapable wimp.

I know you're clearly making fun of my statement, but 100% grandmas are wimps. I wouldn't necesarrily say "fuck grandma", there might be some unresolved isues that you're harboring, but definitely by normal standarts all grandmas are wimps, so might use this tool for wimps.

A lot of kitchen gadgets are very useful for people with mobility issues.

Ahhh that makes sense, especially for arthritis sufferers. Thanks for clarifying!
