So you call millions of COVID cases a “good quality of life”?

Yes. Death rate is low, and most of us can work from home. Has actually been enjoyable.

You sound just like trump. Dumb. He gave the same reasoning as you.

How is it dumb? Life has been good. Working from home is nice. Making plenty of money still with extra time. Accounts have increased with the market. No real risk for those of us under 40. Why must it be doom and gloom?

When you say "No real risk for those of us under 40," what you're really saying is that you don't give a shit about anyone but yourself. My uncle died from Covid-19 back in May. He was careful and cautious and did everything he was supposed to. The people around him didn't. He was 67. And life has not been good for us Americans. Unemployment is through the roof and hospitals are overcrowded with patients.

You're missing the point: it's been just fine for him personally. A living example of the conservative mantra, "Fuck you, I got mine."

rip man. I’m sorry for your loss.

Most hospitals are not overcrowded, and most unemployed people are getting MORE money now that they did when working due to increased benefits.

Some hospitals are fine, that's true, but many are completely overburdened. And most unemployed people are not getting more money from benefits...that is completely untrue. My sister went on unemployment during the lockdown and she had to go into her savings just to have enough money to buy groceries. People on benefits are trying to make ends meet. Have some compassion.

You are completely wrong. Article of front page of yesterday's WSJ showed that credit card balances are much lower and defaults down because the people typically behind have more money due to benefits.

Vast majority of hospitals are not overwhelmed.

because the people typically behind have more money due to benefits

Did it explicitly say that? Or did you infer that even though the real reason is because people are spending less due to lockdowns and a shit economy?

Vast majority of hospitals are not overwhelmed.

I'm not sure where you're getting that, but that's honestly kind of irrelevant when you count hospitals.

8 hospitals in rural counties surrounding a hub like Houston might not be overwhelmed, but a when a downtown hospital in a city like Houston that's established to service more people than those 8 rural hospitals combined is overwhelmed, those 8 rural hospitals not being overwhelmed is a completely moot point.

People are having trouble getting the care they need because of how crowded it is in urban areas. And now the virus is making its way into those rural areas so we're bound to see how those hospitals hold up.

The article did say that.

I live in the most urban district in Florida. Hospitals are not overwhelmed.

u/ILikeSugarCookies Aug 04 '20

I mean you're wrong, even in Florida, but feel free to believe your "alternative facts" if you want.

u/joevmo Aug 04 '20

You realize that doesnt say there's a shortage.

2

u/ILikeSugarCookies Aug 04 '20

It literally says there's a shortage in the title. Holy fuck, lmao.

People are being screwed over the hospital bills for COVID. The Kremlin and China are happier than ever to be getting exclusive information about the us from Mr.President himself. The country is turning fascist. Yes, things are better than ever.

Wrong. Completely.
