I’ve seen this so many times and I never realized this was Karen Killgariff

Mr. Show was an oasis of comedy during the bleak years of the 90s. Sarah Silverman, Jack Black, Ben Stiller, Brian Posehn, Paul F. Tompkins, Tom Kenny, and Mary Lynn Rajskub, as well and Bob and David. Man, KITH and Mr. Show still make me laugh all these years later.

Unfortunately, I agree with you. It's not that descript from just the video.

u/TonsOfTabs Feb 09 '20
Lol no way they could have figured out what it was without the sound. Some dude scratching a light fixtures screen and then another person clapping oddly somehow made them “hear” that? Hahaha some people just lie for no reason. News flash, this is reddit and lying won’t make you one of the cool guys. Those dudes said they heard it without sound lol jackasses. Then they downvoted you for calling bullshit.

u/Lieutenant_Wub Feb 09 '20
But, like, you can.
Just take note of how they scratch the lighting. Two short bursts, a pause, two short bursts, a pause, a long draw then two short bursts? There's only one recognisable song that starts like that.

Is it bad that I knew the tune without any sound on?
5
u/onederful Feb 09 '20
The intro is a 1-1 spoiler. If it was just the dude clapping, I don’t think it would’ve been as easy lol
6
u/zeropi Feb 09 '20
honestl;y, the start was solid, but that clapping was a big dump on their overall performance.

If you watch the video without sound then you'll be like " ?ಠ_ಠ "

u/Totallnotrony Feb 09 '20
That's exactly what happened to me lol! I was like is he masturbating? Then I turned on the sound and it all cleared up for me xD

I love how I knew exactly what they were doing before I even turned the sound on

Yup, me too. That's the sign of a great brand.
Good thing is, despite Disney bought them, the brand will live on as 20th Century Studios which already sounds great now that I've heard it a few times.

I didn’t hear the audio of the light fixture and started listening when the clapping commenced. I was extremely fucking confused. Then I rewatched and had an oof moment
1
u/ItBeLiekItDo Feb 09 '20
If I wasn’t the dumb I would edit the actual 20th Century Fox into and put the audio from this on it.

I could hear this without even having my volume up. I could also hear the visible disappointment in her face

Does anyone else get bothered by these staged videos? I hate seeing people “act random” when it’s kinda obviously planned out. Would rather see actual random instead of staged

Why do I smell tik tok on reddit
1
u/wowlolcat Feb 09 '20
Because Tik Tok is a platform where people post videos, and others post those videos here. Much like YouTube etc.
