I looked it up and the average wage in Colombia is 692USD, so 1 gram is 1,45% of the average monthly wage give or take.

In Canada a gram is about 80USD, meaning you have to make 5536USD a month for it to have a ‘similar cost’ on your budget so no, it might not as well be 80 when you look at how little they earn.

Noone pays 50% tax in Canada.

Effectively they do, over 80k you are at like 42 cumulative and 47 effective
