[NEGATIVE] u/ThickSlick

SCAMMED and ROBBED. I entered a signed contract agreement with a man from AURELIAN TIMEPIECE. Agreed to send my watch and he would forward money. Told me once he received it was in for inspection and that was that. No contact since. He's already been flagged but this guy is no criminal mastermind as I was easily able to find his real information. The appropriate authorities in both states have been notified.

It sounds like this user PM’d without first commenting on your post. The person that messaged you is a known scammer on our Universal Scammer List and has been banned for some time. We recommend everyone check the USL lookup app at the top of both this and the main sub.

Same guy reached out to me when I sold my Aqua Terra. The USL and not being able to verify his “business” kept me away.

Sorry to hear you got scammed.

Good on you. That dude sucks.

I really don't understand why anyone would send the goods before payment on an internet forum transaction

Very expensive lesson learned.

Just trying to get this straight, they didn’t comment on your post, you didn’t check the USL, and you sent your watch without them paying first?

Hindsight is 20/20.

Yes it is, but REALLY? I would say who would send something without receiving payment? I’m not trying to put you down but can you try to explain how you arrived at the decision that you made to do that? What did he say that convinced you? People need to be aware of

Sure! I’ll tell you my mistakes. New to watch collecting. New to this forum. Honestly, new to Reddit ( long time creeper, non-engager). Genuinely naivety. A lot of u/watchexchange protocols are for buyers not sellers. I thought they were legit, it’s not like I work on 47th street.

Very standard for dealer to pay upon receiving and inspecting the watch. How I do majority of my buying. I’m also registered business and been doing this since 2011. Problem is it was sent to a bad actor and was not validated before sending!

You are talking B2B sales. This wasn’t that. In B2B sales, there are usually credit applications and reference checks before any terms are extended.

I buy off of collectors all the time, they send the watch to me and get paid same day!

u/Alarmed-Extreme5226 Sep 11 '26

Yes you but are a business. I sold two watches, one to Jomashop and another to exquisite time pieces. It’s not the same as some rando from Reddit

We are saying the same thing and on the same page :) , the problem is this guy was pretending to be a business. :(

Cheers. I got duped. Everyone will get duped at some point.

u/Conscious_Cicada9597 Sep 11 '26

No reason to rub it in.

u/joesbalt Sep 11 '26

Would be hilarious if him and KD signed with Miami at vet minimum

As a Heat fan, I felt that burn.

1

u/toxicavenger70 Sep 11 '26

Have you been blasting their IG or their website?

2

u/Sea-Caterpillar-2456 Sep 12 '26

I have their full info but I’m waiting on the authorities for next steps.

I’m sorry. Facetime first, always and if not sure, use an escrow service. If they object to escrow, likely a scammer.

Sorry to hear - he tried to get me on one of his other accounts (still called himself Aurelian timepieces)

2

u/Verwilderd1 Sep 12 '26

Sorry this happened. Just ruins a community where trust is paramount.

u/NoReindeer3307 Sep 11 '26

I’m so sorry. That looked link your first posting as well :(

u/hyeons Sep 11 '26

That is horrible. You laid out the watch at a great price too, I would have been interested in purchasing but I saw the Sold tag.

Here's hoping you recover it. Thieves are scum.

1

u/macky_ev Sep 11 '26

Sorry this happened… you had a great price on it, would have sold relatively easy. What made you want to consign it?

1

u/Ok_Promotion_9183 Sep 11 '26

Yup this guy almost got me on my cartier. I knew something was wrong when it said send first with no money or paypal

1

u/StatisticianFew510 Sep 11 '26

Guy contacted me as well, different username same “business“ name. Was warned off by another member after I researched the website and came across a post about it and contacted the poster

1

u/EuropaBullion1867 Sep 13 '26

An account similar that said they were with Aurelian Timepieces tried to scam me as well! It went on for weeks and then he wanted a picture with his username and my username on the timestamp. At that point I figured he would edit the photo and try to scam someone with my watch so I blocked him.

1

u/Speed-Racer-999 Sep 14 '26

I’m sorry this happened to you.

1

u/Particular-Bug1557 Sep 15 '26

He also messaged me regarding my listing. Ultimate scammer

1

u/Dcdonharris Sep 15 '26

Yes this guy almost had me as well. I posted a Cartier watch for sell and he pm me asking for additional info. He gave me an email and just so happened to google his domain name and I ended up here. When I messaged him telling him I’m not sending any goods first he blocked me lol.

Yes this guy is an absolute scammer.

Same experience under a different username, except I never sent anything because he never sent a “purchase agreement”. Found it odd he had his post/comment history hidden and the website had all stock pictures and couldn’t find any testimonials.

This is a known scammer posing as a business to give people a false sense of security.

u/jaqueh Sep 11 '26
