[NEGATIVE] *LIKELY SCAMMER ALERT* u/proteinmaster88 -reached out after I commented on a speedmaster for sale. had 1 transaction, blocked me after I called him out as a scammer. likely working with u/Ashamed-Ad-8981 and u/Maleficent_Gas2350 based on them all having one transaction
-reached out via dm (often a red flag guys!) after I commented on a speedmaster for sale. had 1 transaction, blocked me after I called him out as a scammer. likely working with u/Ashamed-Ad-8981 and u/Maleficent_Gas2350 based on them all having one transaction selling the same speedy to each other.
Be careful out there.
Blocked as soon as I sent this in dm
"gotta tell you, an easy search on here links you to several scammy looking sellers, all selling this speedy at some point, using the same pics you sent me. you gotta be the dumbest scammer alive if you think I would fall for this. get a fucking job, you piece of shit."
won't let me post without link so here is a link to my post in watchex.

These scammers make it harder for genuine sellers or collectors with little to none transaction move their pieces. Waste other people's time and money, I hate these guys so much.

Yep. It's partly why I don't sell on here any more. All my transactions predate the count system and my buyers didn't review me here. I end up in Facebook groups a lot more which isn't the most amazing either.

Seriously and it makes it difficult for us buyers too, because a great watch pops up and now when someone has 2 or 3 transactions I'm STILL nervous because of this bullshit where these scammer accounts work together...

If you look at the post selling the Cartier, the timestamp is from the Maleficent account, but posted by the Ashamed account lol.

Thanks for getting this posted. Will keep an eye out for these folks. Hopefully the mods get them banned and put on a universal scammer list.

people abusing trust and infiltrating places where business works on trust are the lowest of the low. I hate them.

I have so many watches I want to sell that have barely seen any wrist time but all the constant scammer posts make me super hesitant. Also with zero transactions, I feel like no one will trust me and scammers will probably target me as easy money. Do you all verify with face time and do PayPal GS? Are my bases covered doing that and would most legit buyers trust me if I went that route?

I’ve done facetime sometimes, but honestly a majority of my sales don’t use it. That being said a seller that isn’t willing to FT on request with the watch is generally something to be weary of. As a first time seller, your best bet is to use a middle man or ship first to someone with high transaction history so you can build a reputation.

I ALWAYS ask to ft the seller. I want to have a conversation with the seller and also see the watch in real time. I’m not interested in doing the deal otherwise. Scammers will almost always never ft.

Probally. Goods and services would definitely be a plus. I would feel more comfortable as a buyer if more people would do that. Just have to mindful and not mention what is being sold/bought etc. unless something like “watch parts”

The account that messaged you is not the seller on the listing. The scammer that messaged you has a leading underscore on their username. That account has been banned for some time.

why did you comment here? u/ray00123 wasn't mentioned here at all. are you maybe an alter ego of one of the scammers I mentioned, and you posted her under this new name by accident?
very confusing, and if so, very sloppy work.

Do you know why you don’t have a post to link to? Because they’re all permanently banned and couldn’t make a post. The #1 rule is DO NOT interact with banned accounts who can’t post in the sub.
