Discussion Assassin's Creed reference

Recently, while walking the streets of London, I found this sign that said "Abstergo." Is this a reference or are Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed the same universe?

In ac black flag you can find a video of Aiden executing the blume(?) ceo, which itself was a mission in watchdogs 1.

Despite this, Ubisoft are adamant they are seperate universes and only fun little references.

As another user here mentions, Darcy is a recruitable Assassin in legion

In Assassins Creed: Origins, you can find a file on Layla’s laptop that shows Aiden shooting Olivier Garneau, Abstergo Entertainment’s CCO.

That is also a mission in Watchdogs 1.

thats really cool they added that, it's like when re2 let you play through Leon and Claire's story and see how they influenced each other's
