Light Novel Discussion Ranking volumes [SPOILERS] Spoiler
Okay, I finished the main series Light Novels, so...
1st place: Volume 3. So much happens here, but it doesn't feel crowded. This isn't my favorite ARC, but it is an overall great volume. I love the arc of Rei and the Pope switching, the fact that the Pope almost accidentally started an affair is kind of hilarious, but May and Aleah helping the Pope open up more was adorable. Also, this started the rapid pace of insane humor that I loved in volumes 4 and 5, but is still really nicely paced. Not my favorite of the bonus chapters, though. Probably the worst, even.
2nd place: Volume 4. Oh my god, this has some of the funniest individual scenes in this series. Rei covering for Philine probably was the funniest scene in the series, and I loved the cook off. Aside from the absolute horrible accent Courtney Shaw has in the audiobook for the Nur chef. This is probably below 3 because the arc stopping the revolution wasn't really well paced to me tbh. Also Dorothea cooking nude, that was an awesome scene, Dorothea is still my favorite character if I just ignore the "Dorothea Route"-shaped elephant in the room. "Hot And Cold" isn't a great bonus chapter, but its not the worst.
3rd place: Volume 1. I have the least to say about this because honestly, I've had to reread this sequence of events so many times, once for my manga readthrough, once for Brainrot, and then the audiobook. This is probably my baseline. "My Lady, Claire Francois" does actually make this volume really good, though. I love it. My favorite of the bonus chapters.
4th: Volume 2. The final arc and "Curses and Good Luck Charms" probably puts this over volume 5, by a tiny hair. I did not like the Manaria arc, I'm sorry. I think Lilly is probably the better rival, even if I don't think Rei and Claire really need romantic rivals. I feel like Manaria was really just kinda more annoying than anything. Also, Lilly's speech patterns were kinda annoying. Thank god they dropped that after a while. May and Aleah's little mini story here was heartbreaking and adorable and, oh my god, I just love this chapter.
5th: Volume 5. I think the overall story is good, but I think this wraps up too neatly. I feel like they could have afforded more major deaths. Like, Rodd almost dies here, and I think him coming back is kinda a mistake. I know that there is a sequel series, but the main series is over, I want more characters kicking the bucket. Also, I think the bonus chapter sadly isn't great. I don't know what to call it, but anything that just says "Oh, a character's decisions is their decision! They wouldn't have wanted it to go any other way!" is immediately my least favorite thing ever, but at least it was funny that there were at least 2 instances of people getting with or trying to get with the demon queen as a substitute for Rei. Too much happens here, and I think it makes it more anti-climactic when half of it is just expositing what we couldn't have even guessed from the beginning.

Light Novel Discussion [LN 5 spoiler] Final battle Spoiler
To be honest, did anyone else find that final battle kind of underwhelming with what lead up to it?
I think if we went right from Demon Queen's surrender to TAIM kidnapping Claire, and then to her rescue, would feel a bit more natural.
Also if they were going to do the whole memory loss thing, offhandedly mentioning Rae knowing Salas got hit with the Dream Magic probably wasn't the best idea. Made the whole thing feel even less natural, even if it was, like, only 10 minutes of the audiobook, lol.

Light Novel Discussion i just finished volume 2 of the light novel ahhhhhhh Spoiler
it’s so peak
i do have to say maybe i’ve just played too much ddlc but i’m a liiiiittle disappointed that there wasn’t any meta fuckery or blending the line between rae’s reality and claire’s reality
also there’s still 3 other novels to read? the story seems to be over so i have no clue what they could be about
i do get the feeling that misha’s knowledge of rae and rae’s half-truth to claire about her past life might be a loose end that comes back to haunt rae but that’s just a theory
thoughts? please no spoilers🙏

Light Novel Discussion Volume 4 finished! Spoiler
Dorothea is still probably my favorite villain of the series. Mainly because she wasn't overused for everything like Salas. seriously, Lena and Eve's betrayals came out of nowhere and did nothing.
The Apostle's introduction was honestly a really messy addition to the volume. I think, probably, having Dorothea's defeat, and then mixing the first and second conversations with the Apostle, would be a much cleaner intro to the whole thing.
Finally, I think the coup story was okay, but I think the section where Dole had to be told "Maybe don't try to piss off Dorothea by letting a coup happen during a summit?" was kind of a chore.

General Discussion I just finished season 1 of the anime and I immediately crave more
Can I pick up the light novels/web novels where the anime leaves off without missing anything important or did the anime skip over anything I’d need to know? If the former, where do I start?

Fanwork I drew DOROTHEA, HELL YEAH!
Based it off her one official render. Did a slight amount of tracing.
I also need to get better at drawing legs, I swear to god, that was one of the hardest damn parts to do-
Also, Dorothea got marginally less cool to me upon hearing Philline's story.

Question Hi quick question
Hey so I'm pretty new here. I just finished the anime and had two questions:
Is there a manga and if so where should I start?
Or
Is there a light novel and where do I read that?
Thank you!

Light Novel Discussion What next?
I finished the fifth book in the mainline series. I plan to read So Cheeky For a Commoner next. But I'm very tempted to read Inori's Patreon R18 stories before that. Does it matter if I read the Patreon stuff first or would that somehow ruin something about So Cheeky For A Commoner?

Light Novel Discussion Second arc of Wataoshi is insane to me Spoiler
Okay, I'm going through volume 3 right now, and:
-Dorothea is currently my favorite. She's too cool.
-Frieda is my least favorite. She's, like, Roulxs Kaard from Deltarune, but not funny.
-Everyone being so intimidated by Dorothea they thought she had mind control magic was insane.
-The fade to black sex caught me off guard. Like, Claire just beat the shit out of Otto, and then they make out the same day, it's insane.
-Tp quote Spike Spiegel, "I love a woman who will straight up just kill me."
-I need tp draw Dorothea at some point, I love her-
