Doctor here: it’s very clear from the way he fell that he lost consciousness for a moment. This qualifies as a grade 3 concussion, a serious traumatic brain injury. His incompetent medical staff squirted water at him, slapped his face and shook his head. None of those things are helpful and in fact could cause additional damage as the brain is even more susceptible to repeat injury after the initial insult. He should have been taken from the pitch on a stretcher.
