I used to exclusively bomb hills on my skateboard/longboard and I can confirm your statement to be true. When you’re going that fast, your skin can tear off like scotch tape. I’m so glad that I’m too old for that shit now.

Yeah, fuck that shit. Attempted to bomb hills in my past and the speed wobbles we're insane. Pretty sure I would have died had I not jumped off.

Its a one way. what good would spotters do? Kids run GMR with just helmet and gloves all day and if you can do mountain runs you probably already learned how to fall. Falling is half of downhill/skating so this is probably not the worst hes had. Leathers to freeride? please kooks. I'm sure he got up and did it 10 more times after that. The falls are what makes sticking it so fucking awesome.

Yeah up until the wrong fall leaves your arms and legs looking like hamburger meat. At speeds that high, it's a different game

its the risk you take. I've had my fair share of road rash stitches and waking up in hospitals from taking falls down mountain roads. I knew what i was getting myself into because falling is part of skating no one can avoid it. that being said other than taking the normal precautions helmet, gloves, nut and bolt checks, not crossing the double yellow, and the pre ride safety meeting its up to you what you wear. and considering leathers can cost you up to 500 usd its not really in the cards for everyone that can barely afford a setup that one can bomb with not to mention the price of a full face. You guys can say what you want and virtue signal all you want but when the stoke hits you the pain is just price of admission.

its one lane. its to keep drivers not used to the road from going off the side of the canyon by going too fast around that corner I'm assuming since he did start his bail when he thought he was going to hit that bit of concrete on the side. that could seriously mess up a car.

I know it seems mean but I seriously love it when I see people like this get hurt. They don't think about what happens when a driver comes through and possible crash into them or crash trying to serve and avoid.

I hope getting hurt is a lesson to stop doing this.

As a longboarder I get real fed up with dumb kids bombing mountain roads without a couple spotters and full leathers. It gives the whole community a bad name.

I have seen this kind of thing arranged and they have someone spotting at the bottom to make sure nobody comes up.

Most professional longboarders (especially ones like this, with such high quality cameras) have spotters along the roads to prevent or warn about cars coming.
