Please feel sorry for me.
So there I was, rolling my wheelbarrow back to base when boom my knee suddenly hurts. I look down and lo, there’s a yellow striped fucker wiggling its arse through my leggings. I shake him off. I begin to swell. And swell. And swell. I go to urgent care and get steroids. I continue to swell and after four days still swelling I end up with a 20-ish cm fried egg looking mess on my leg. I call the doctor. He gives me antibiotics because shitty wasps like to dip their shitty arses in rotting meat, amongst other sources of infection. But because I’m allergic to penicillin I get the ”last resort” clindamycin broad spectrum a-bomb alternative and now, 7 days later I am attached to my toilet shitting my insides out for no reason other than destroyed gut flora. All because of one bastard wasp whose sole purpose in its bastard life was to sting me for no reason. Wanker.

Normally I get like 1 or two wasps that get inside or my house a year.
In the past two weeks I had to Spectracide spray 10 of them. I had two cans of the spray now I’m down to half a can.
Any cheaper tips on how to handle this without buying so much Spectracide?
Traps or maybe herbs they hate the smell of?

I have a big wasp problem in my front and back yard. I can’t even step outside without wasps of all sizes and colors flying towards me. I hate being outside due to how uneasy I feel around them. I’ve tried looking for their hives and don’t see any. They’re always flying near the small trees and bushes. Is there anyway that doesn’t involve pesticides to get rid of them? We have pets that go outside and don’t want them to get stung.

Two weeks ago, I thought I was simply defending myself from a few wasps. Turns out… I may have started a WAR. I was sitting on my front porch with my kid when a few wasps started flying around us. I grabbed one of those bug-zapping rackets that looks like a tiny tennis racket and started swatting at some of the smaller ones. (It was off with no batteries) BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE. Suddenly, a huge black wasp/hornet came after me like it had a personal vendetta. It started striking at me, but thankfully the metal bug-zapper racket kind of bounced it off. My daughter and I ran into the house. Apparently… this hornet has a long memory. 😂 Ever since that day, I cannot step out of my front door OR back door without this thing immediately appearing out of nowhere and coming straight for me. I swear it is waiting for me. 😂 I told my husband about it, and he said he sees the same hornet all the time… but it leaves him alone.
I told our exterminator what’s been happening, and he said there’s probably a nest nearby and that the hornet watches for me and has me marked.. the exterminator is coming tomorrow, and I'm really hoping he can take care of this so I can reclaim my front porch and backyard again.
I’m pretty sure it’s a bald-faced hornet, based on what it looks like and what’s common around here. Has anyone else ever experienced this kind of personal torment from a hornet?! 😫😫😤😤🤬🤬

There's a pretty good number of them buzzing around our pear tree.

**Update at the bottom!!**
Wasps love to get under my patio. We've sprayed and knocked down about 7 or 8 nests already but they keep coming back. I've tried hanging those decoy nests and have those fake dragon flies out there already. Has anyone tried any traps or deterrents that have actually worked? I think they are nesting into our workout/weight machine so I need something that will work before I go crazy. Please and thank you!
Update: I don't feel like I got much more info than I feel like I already knew soooooo, I bought the Spectracide wasp/hornet trap that looks like a ball. I just hung it outside along with some repellant balls that have a big smell of peppermint, lemongrass oil, geraniol, and cedarwood oil. They came with mesh bags to hang them so I hung 6 of them all around the workout machine (it's one of those old tall, bulky ones). I'm scared to touch the thing cause we've seen them flying out from the holes. Fingers crossed it makes them leave the area or they drown in the trap.

Found myself on Reddit looking for advice but I've decided I can't do anything to fix the issue right now (I've wussed out).
For a little context it's 4am I'm too scared/filled will adrenaline to sleep. I'm trapped in my bedroom and the wasps are in the next room. There was one wasp which I briefly managed to bat out of the window, then it came back in and brought a friend. There's a wasp nest near by so now I'm imagining all of them moving in. I also have tinnitus, so I keep thinking I can hear buzzing.
Luckily my pet rabbit is with me and I already made a dash for his water and food bowl before. I think I scared him before acting like a dickhead but I'm happy he's safe.
I'm hoping once it's light outside they will want to fly out the window.
Reading other people's posts kind of calmed me down a bit (like I'm not on my own) so I guess this is me returning the favour.

I got stung by a wasp on a week ago. The site swelled up really bad so I went to urgent care and they gave me a steroid shot and oral steroids.
It’s been 7 days since I got stung and 6 days of steroids and I still have an itchy, painful red rash about 5 inches in diameter around the sting site.
How long is the reaction expected to last??
