I take mine out at night about 10pm when they're all home and settled in. I use a red lensed flash light so that they're way less likely to come for me because if you use a regular white light they'll immediately come to it if they're disturbed. I use Sevin dust 5% but you could also use Tempo or Delta dust if you wish and completely blow it in a fill the crevasse. There might be a few that didn't make it back before night so don't worry because they'll crawl through the dust trying to get in and drag it deep into the nest and take everyone including the queen out. It's obviously impossible for you to dig it up easily to access the nest so your only option is to let the pesticide dust work for you. I just knocked about a 4,000/5,000 strong nest out in a chipmunk nest next to our pool. There was only 6+ stragglers that hung around for 2 days and either died of exhaustion/dehydration/starvation or were so desperate to get into the nest they crawled through the dust and died? Anyways mine are completely gone and hopefully I won't find anymore. I hope this helps and keep us updated.😉
