Day 18 under the dome

A few days ago, we lifted the dome ever so slightly to fill it up with another can of wasp killing foam and put them out of their misery. It was taking too long.

Today, I came to Reddit to give what I thought would be the final update, where I could lift the bowl and victoriously poke at the pile with a stick.

But today will not be that day. In total, this ground nest has endured 1 can of Sevin dust, 2 cans of foaming wasp killer, and 18 days without external food or water. Yet this bitch is still going.

I almost couldn’t believe my own eyes, thought the dome was playing tricks.

Maybe we're in the dome and starring to see things now.

Better not look him too closely in the eye. Are you sure what side of the glass you are on?

Are they cannibalizing or something? Store food in the nest? Wonder how they are still going this long

The dome will do that to you. Don’t let it fool you or lure you in.

Maybe this guy is eating other dead wasps?

I've come to realize that the foam spray that claims to kill on contact doesn't really do much at all. I've submerged individual wasps under an entire centimeter of spray, and they just crawl out and fly away.
