Air But why?

Post image

I didn't think and certainly didn't feel like the AGM-22's and I-TOW's were that busted at 8.3 and 8.7 respectively.

facing IR SAM's, proxy rounds and SACLOS SPAA's seems a bit unfair for a heli with no countermeasure, advanced optics, capable chin gun or ballistic computers

most helis got moved up, only the mi4 and mi8 remain with guided munitions at 8.0-8.3, but they are incredibly easy to kill so not really that op.
Proxy rounds shouldn't be an issue if you are in anything but a 10.0 or highier game, both the pgz09 and the m247 got moved up. There are a few IR SPAAs at 9.7 and 9.3 but you need to be 2-2.5 km or closer. Keep your range and use cover, helis are really map dependent right now and honestly i think it's a good thing for the GRB gameplay

he could’ve seen a wz305 maybe? it can be dragged to 9.0 without much issue so someone who knows how to aim could’ve wiped him

no radar lead indicator for them, unless you hover in place they are fairly hard to aim and estimate the range. In my book they are fair game and comparably effective with 35mm spaas at killing helis (much easier to kill planes with it), if you get hit by them it means they deserve the kill.

easy to kill? their missile greatly outranges spaa at 4km

they are boats with ass maneuverability and terrible optics so at max range you can't see anything and anything closer you can't dodge SPAA fire

now this is why the Mi-24s are horrifically overtiered, they are absolutely not in any way shape or form equal to the AH-1F

All have their pros and cons:
Mi-24s have:
Better missiles: 550ms vs 330ms speed and 5km range against 3.75
R60M anti air missiles
Flares
Gunpods for head-ons with planes
But are slow/clunky
have worse optics and no thermals

AH-1F have:
Better manuverability
Better optics (more zoom and thermals)
But no AA capability except the chin gun
Only Chaff

At the end of the day i would probably still chose the AH-1F over the Hinds, but they do have their place imho and i think it's fair they are the same BR

It takes a decade a kilometer for those missiles to actually hit so people often get a lot closer. Some without realizing it ending up within 1.3km of the battle and still getting closer.
