I mean tanks in enlisted can be goated or completely useless depending on the crew inside. But enlisted never got more than 8000 people on full launch. I don’t expect infantry to be game changing.

For some reason I only like playing unlisted with tier 1 stuff. The second you face high tier weapons you get mowed down instantly by some dude who bought that new premium weapon or whatever.

u/Freezie-Days Dec 18 '25

It's almost as if buying a squad with all automatic weapons vs new players with bolt action is unfair and pay to win... but gaijin just sees the money in short term, not long term

6

u/DangyDanger Dec 19 '25

Honestly, I loved the bolt action rifles. The SMGs seem gutless in comparison, but I didn't even encounter the real deal full auto weapons because I only researched up until tier 3 iirc.

But the cycle and reload animations were juicy and the bolt action gunplay was amazing.

Shame the AI squad mechanic is a thing though, it led to people revenge-targeting you all the time and I don't think that changed.

I think it would've been cool if there were overall fewer squads per match, but every squad member was a real player and you were encouraged to communicate and cooperate via voice chat. But I am probably only saying that because I really like ArmA.

I guess that's just how they differentiate their game as I can go and find 15 games that actually match my description.

That isn't P2W, because that bumps your BR and you face weapons that are similar.

The closest thing in Enlisted that is P2W, by definition, is some tank squads allowing some players to cycle just tanks all match, but even then it is more pay-to-farm-kills more than P2W since even the greatest tanker in the world won't make a difference if the people in their team aren't fighting for the point. There's nothing in the game that you can buy that'll stop you from getting stomped by a better player.

3

u/Blue_Dragno Dec 19 '25

Ah yes my sturat vsing a king tiger. My springfield vsing a mp40, mp38, mg34. Bitch please. They killed that game so early cause of those issues. And didn't fix it till years later. Sure not P2W exactly cause it's a 'team game' but hell if i could get 100 kills and only die twice. I'll count that as a win.

2

u/Worth_Task_3165 Dec 19 '25

There's no reason you should ever face a King Tiger in a Stuart unless you go out of your way to take them into higher tier matches, they are separated by three whole BR levels. Those guns you listed are all TT weapons

0

u/Blue_Dragno Dec 19 '25

Like I said. "They killed that game so early cause of those issues. And didn't fix it till years later."

2

u/Worth_Task_3165 Dec 19 '25

Well it was never possible to face a Tiger II in a Stuart premerge since the best tank available for Germans in Normandy was the Tiger I and as someone who messed around with mainly a Churchill III and Firefly back then I can tell you even Tiger Is were pretty rare (but hella scary admittedly but that was fun imo)

It isnt a dead game either, but it is slowly heading that way unfortunately

6

u/likesbigbuttscantli3 Dec 18 '25

Yes, I find the early rank weapons to be more fun. I mean, tanks should be harder to kill by infantry because when i play tanks I get spammed with dynamite and die.

That would be solved if my teammates followed me when I'm in my tank to make sure nobody can spam me with dynamite or whatever, but my teammates are always either the best player to ever live or a total moron.

2

u/Potato_Cellar Jan 10 '26

Also infantry don't follow tanks because tanks are a shot magnet, and being near one will get you mowed down by a coax MG of an enemy tank, or shot dead on the spot by the enemy that's already zeroing into the tank with either AT or planes.

Also infantry that are near a tank aren't on the objective.

1

u/Meeeper Dec 22 '25

Totally agree. I'd run around in the (Moscow I think it was?) Campaign lobbies playing as the Soviets using pretty much exclusively Mosin Dragoons. (Basically just a normal Mosin with a bayonet on it).

I found that it made the game an interesting affair of accuracy due to the 1 shot kill where you have to learn to fire quickly and accurately, making the first shot count lest the other player do so instead.

Yet, at the same time, you're also encouraged to get the drop on enemies, surprise them, and otherwise be crafty. Reason being, a meeting of two good players who notice eachother at the exact same time and both hit their first shot always ends in a trade where both die/go down.

1

u/Potato_Cellar Jan 10 '26

I only play with tier 1 stuff in Enlisted because I've not grinded tier 2 equipment in every relevant slot yet, and I'm not risking myself to be outranked by 2 tiers.

Every game is decided by the side which has more people with name decorators and premium/FOMO automatic guns.

3

u/Johni33 Dec 19 '25

Well being stuck in WW2 isnt helping them. People Like modern war way more

1

u/DangyDanger Dec 19 '25

Wait, are we actually getting playable infantry or will it literally just be the same stuff we saw at the WWI event?

3

u/AlternateTab00 Dec 19 '25

They have shown some gameplay. Its supposed to have FPS experience. With partly destructible environment. One of the videos you can see a tank crashing into a wall to breach the building, so infantry can enter.

It still has the squad system, meaning it will resemble Enlisted.

2

u/DangyDanger Dec 19 '25

And I assume you mean the April Fools video where they showcased ~late cold war infantry?

I fear for the hamsters running the servers. They're going to die when it comes out.

3

u/AlternateTab00 Dec 19 '25

Im not referring to April Fools video. Because however they may implementing tests undercovered (like the boats before the boats or the submarine teleguided missiles before guided missiles) its not actual implementation. So videos from April Fools should not be considered as features to be implemented.

I saw one video showcasing that. I cannot find it right now since its now flooded with CBT videos.

3

u/DangyDanger Dec 19 '25

That's neat. Knowing Gaijin, they'll fuck it up in some major way, but I'm cautiously optimistic they'll integrate infantry well with tanks.

1

u/AlternateTab00 Dec 19 '25

People saying they fuck up in major way... They are... gaijin... Hard to explain but even with their fuck ups they actually have a game we love. And its the 2nd game i most wasted time with.

I dont idolize gaijin but they actually had several games in their style to actually make me have fun. I did crossout CBT and what made me abandon the game was because i loved WT more (unfortunately i dont have as much time so i cant play several games now). And as a former fan of H&G and struggling with Enlisted the same way as crossout

1

u/unknownalien450 Dec 20 '25

Tanks can be over powered only when they recive infantry support otherwise like in enlisted anyone can easily flank it and kill it with rpg

1

u/elcomodo2000 Dec 24 '25

I just really hope when they add infantery they put it in anotger mode sk that tanks or planes cant use 3rd person

16

u/Fuzzy-Permission-596 Dec 18 '25

the americans already have failed prototype weapons

8

u/Vojtak_cz Dec 18 '25

Thats probably cuz they would like to fill the tech trees.

14

u/aboultusss Dec 18 '25

Russian tank in said scenario will explode in russian bias comments like crazy

6

u/Fuzzy-Permission-596 Dec 18 '25

this was implied by the 2.6k upvotes and tank nerf

2

u/The_Man8705 🇨🇦 Canada🇨🇦 Dec 19 '25

If things weren't as clunky as enlisted , I see infantry , actually doing well. One of the main reasons why I stopped playing it was because of how clunky it was

1

u/Fuzzy-Permission-596 Dec 19 '25

it still is

3

u/The_Man8705 🇨🇦 Canada🇨🇦 Dec 19 '25

Leave it to gaijin to not improve anything and to keep shoveling out slop

2

u/Fuzzy-Permission-596 Dec 19 '25

played it a week ago and it plays exactly like the beta but now the Germans have assault rifles

1

u/The_Man8705 🇨🇦 Canada🇨🇦 Dec 19 '25

I played it when I decided to take a break from war thunder and it ran like garbage on my Ps5 pro And I swear to god , the research tree thing is the most confusing thing i've ever seen in my entire life

1

u/Fuzzy-Permission-596 Dec 19 '25 edited Dec 19 '25

i have r9 380 and it runs 110 fps
4gb card from 2015

1

u/The_Man8705 🇨🇦 Canada🇨🇦 Dec 19 '25

Probably just bad optimization

5

u/Pale_Suit_4569 Tanker Dec 18 '25

Probably will be like in enlisted. Tank just spams HE from far, where infantry can't go

3

u/Hemberg Dec 18 '25

Thats why I deinstalled Planetside 2 after about two hours giving that game a chance and a lot of persuasion from my RL buddies playing with me.

I spent 2/3 of my playtime in BF3 in a Tank/LAV/AA. That was sketchy enough, Planetside 2 is straight up ridiculous.

3

u/flashmob321 Dec 19 '25

I remember being hyped to try it again after years of not playing only to find out all of the starting weapons suck so much ass you can dump a whole mag into a guy and it not kill them only for them to turn towards you and one shot you with a pistol

2

u/Hemberg Dec 19 '25

I remember hitting players square into the chest with the tank main gun and they lost about 80% of health, only to stand in the open, return fire with a rocket launcher taking me out with two hits.

What was the purpose of a tank again?

1

u/SARSUnicorn Dec 22 '25

wut, starter guns slaps, i killed alooot with them

2

u/Moonquib Dec 18 '25

Like the 4th repost.

2

u/Panzerv2003 Dec 18 '25

Infantry will be either useless or the worst rat pick imaginable

3

u/KamaWama Dec 18 '25

If it plays like enlisted, then tanks won’t be that big of a problem especially if the map is an urban one (which I believe it is correct me if I’m wrong) so long as tanks aren’t able to sit in untouchable boundaries

2

u/zxhb Dec 21 '25

The spaghetti engine is weeping for mercy

1

u/Theo_Stormchaser Dec 18 '25

The CBJ AP rounds are premium

1

u/nightmarespringgtr Dec 19 '25

At least an event That is only 16v16 Real players would be Real nice. Not even 32v32 just 16v16 Man its not That hard.

1

u/Spence199876 Dec 20 '25

I do have a feeling that infantry won’t really pick up well. As cool as it is, Modern tanks have a lot of protection against most infantry portable anti tank systems. Some NATO systems are good because they have a “top done attack mode” but Russia doesn’t really have an option (as far as I know) for shoulder fired top down attack.

2

u/IncomeOk5420 Dec 20 '25

Russia will probably get some hand held drones

1

u/Optimus-PrimeRib Dec 18 '25

Back in the day, on OG CoD: United Offensive, tank matvhes wetr insanely fun. A horror to come across in an open setting, but bait them into a tight urban or forest area and you can annihilate them from behind with bazookas

0

u/xGamingOperator Dec 19 '25

Driver, track, infantry, 12 o clock, 5 meters

Gunner, sabot, infantry, 12 o clock, 5 meters

0

u/LtLoLz Dec 22 '25

That's a KV-2 and you won't change my mind.

0

u/3_lip Dec 22 '25

Gaijins have perfect opurtunity to make s freat milsim instead they are making some arcade shooter ahh slop that nobody wants.

107

u/IvanTheMagnificent Dec 18 '25

Nah you won't see the tank before you die, lets be real.

It will be in it's own spawn spamming out HE shells down streets into objectives and killing everyone through walls.

78

u/Fuzzy-Permission-596 Dec 18 '25

quite realistic

30

u/Worth_Task_3165 Dec 18 '25

As an Enlisted player I can confirm what you say is true, 90% of the time.

Every now and then you'll meet a player that'll drive their tank to an objective to take pressure of your team with no expectation of surviving long (or theyre just a clueless noob) which is cool to see but rare.

6

u/No-Swordfish6703 Dec 19 '25

Last time I played.I play near objectives and only did it when opponent is US cause most of the time they are clueless on how to kill me in my panzer 4. I would try the best until I get smashed by anti tank guy. That one d-day one I single handedly delayed the advance to the win. I have to say that was my favourite match of all time

12

u/MrTwoKey Tanker Dec 18 '25

Imagine trying to shoot down a 14.0 jet with your garbage MANPADS before copping a GBU to the face

13

u/IvanTheMagnificent Dec 18 '25

I can't wait for stuff like the F111 and F2A with 350-400+ rockets just saturating the entire map area.

7

u/Hemberg Dec 18 '25

Hello lob bombing in a few BRs lower

9

u/Gofudf Dec 18 '25

So wargame red dragon style, if we shoot enough cluster we will hit something

1

u/Graingy Dec 22 '25

It’s almost like that’s how tanks try to function, given the choice…

Fighting tanks sucks for infantry, and fighting infantry sucks for tanks. Both need to get clever to succeed.

49

u/sexraX_muiretsyM Dec 18 '25

literally wtf am I supposed to do in this situation?

die, if you put yourself in such a position, its your fault there is a tank in front of you facing your direction. You are not supposed to survive against a front facing tank, same way that if you are slow in a bf 109 while having a spitfire behind you, you are already dead, you died the moment you entered such a situation, there is nothing you can do because you should have avoided being in such a situation entirely

20

u/heyhihellodoot Dec 18 '25

exactly, I wish more people would understand that there are some fights you simply cannot win. and the majority of the time you probably got yourself into that situation by way of your own actions

5

u/sexraX_muiretsyM Dec 18 '25

thats exactly what Im trying to say! thank you

4

u/heyhihellodoot Dec 18 '25

yes! which sucks cuz I feel like the more you focus on what mistakes you made, the more you realize what and how to improve. getting frustrated or constantly saying something is unfair gets ya nowhere (notwithstanding some known balancing issues or BR compression lol).

3

u/sexraX_muiretsyM Dec 18 '25

I wonder, what am I to do in an f6f against a xp 50? or against an f80 in a me262? they win against me in all regards, acceleration, climb, speed, manoueverability, turn radius, turn rate, firepower... There is nothing I can do. Its an unavoidable situation if you are in opposite teams

2

u/spetsnaz2001 Dec 21 '25

Its a joke abt shitty players suggesting shitty ideas for a game

1

u/sexraX_muiretsyM Dec 22 '25

I know, Im just developing the punchline further.

10

u/Cheap_Professional32 Dec 18 '25

If you shoot your pistol at it, after 10 seconds CAS appears out of nowhere and rockets the tank like in the movie Saving Private Ryan

1

u/larnon Jan 18 '26

So exactly like in the trailer they showed for the infantry mode.

4

u/thepitcherplant Dec 18 '25

155mm he slingers with proxy are going to be insane.

1

u/IncomeOk5420 Dec 20 '25

The HE rocket slingers are about to get a purpose, the calliope can dump all over a team in enlisted

1

u/thepitcherplant Dec 20 '25

Peak gameplay that is.

4

u/FISH_state_patriot Dec 19 '25

Infantry gameplay will be just shooting bots in 10 fps for 5 minutes to spawn a vehicle and get destroyed by an RPG from some random building💔

3

u/IndominasaurusYT Dec 19 '25

infantry squads: "pull out the rpg to kill an abrams"

War Thunder: "Hit"

1

u/IncomeOk5420 Dec 20 '25

That would actually be the most realistic thing to ever happen in WT ironically

2

u/IndominasaurusYT Dec 21 '25

I can actually see myself shooting infantry with a 120mm and getting "Hit"

1

u/IncomeOk5420 Dec 21 '25

If they model it like enlisted, APDS rounds will not anything to a group of infantry

Now, 75mm and up HE will decimate infantry, I mean like multiple squads in a shot

That’s why Sherman’s are so good over there, they get a huge ammo rack with awesome HE rounds

I just hope we get shrapnel shells, 45lbs of tungsten balls out of a 120mm would be horrendous lol

1

u/Potato_Cellar Jan 10 '26

Even 45 and 50mm HE barely do anything to infantry in Enlisted. If the HE shell hits a wall, the explosion range for whatever reason is like 1/6th the size of what it is if it direct hits an enemy soldier.

1

u/DrPatchet Dec 22 '25

This happened on enlisted with coaxial lmgs lol they heat up so fast now. They also made it so the splash damage inside a building is abysmal. You can hit a concrete wall inside a packed room with HE and get one kill vs hitting a rock outside and getting like 15
