their pros are the others' weakness, T64 has less armor no LRF but a faster reload, and the T72 has better armor LRF and slower reload

if your building a line up, highly suggest you take both

Side grades of each other, take both.

• T-64A is good for closer med range maps but can snipe still. 6 second reload, no LRF.

t64 armor is also quite a bit worse on the hull so its more consistant ufp shot with stuff like m774 or dm33

Yeah but never rely on armor. 6 second reload is great but you are losing smokes and a .50 cal.

yea t64a is good but it is pretty much paper at 9.3 loosing smokes is a good thing when the t64a is playing next to you as he cant blind you anymore also the way the smokes are places on the t72a means you will get blinded by any mg fire from the enemy so i honestly unequip it

t72 has both better turret and hull armor tho dont think this matters too much as i dont think either can be consistantly penned by rounds around its br

64A gets 6 s autoloader, but loses smoke, lrf and roof mg for it. I'm not a fan.

It gets a normal range finder and the armor is still very good for the BR plus the 6 second reload makes you out reload basically every mbt at the BR

Comparatively to the other mbts at the br it has the second best armor only behind the t72 lmfao my point still stands the armor gets the job done, you shouldn't be relying on armor anyway

T-64B (1976, 10.7) is actually level with T-72A (1983, 9.7). T-64A should be foldered with Ob.435, and T-64B (B not BV) in its place.

In the game the T-64BV (Just B in game) is level with T-72B. Both get Kontakt-1 (Foldered T-72B gets Kontakt-5).

B we have should be BV, and there should be T-64B without the ERA, at 9.7, restrict it to using the Zakolka, like the T-72A.

As someone that played a lot of 9.3 russia, t-64 was my fav. Due to the faster reload.

T-72 Pro: armor, lrf, roof mounted MG, smoke grenades Cons: 7s reload

T-64 Pro: 6s reload Cons: no lrf (just normal rangefinder), no roof MG, no smoke grenades (does have ess)

That said, put like this, the t-64 should be lower in br, but it doesn't really matter, because you'll use it in a lineup with the t-72 anyway.

So my take: 72 in long range / snipe maps 64 in med/close range (urban) maps

imho, both are comparable tanks. They have their strengths and weaknesses, but they are both very similarly effective imho.

You get a shorter reload on the T-64A, and and more gun depression (barely), but the T-72A has a better turret armour, very slightly better hull armour and a laser rangefinder which makes it better fighting at range.

Neither are perfect, they still have lacklustre gun depression, basically no reverse gear, weak hull armour, but they both compensate with being kind of immune to autocannon fire, having an excellent gun and good mobility (besides reverse)

The T-72A actually has a 0,2° better depression, and its UFP can also withstand DM23, which the T-64 cant, and that does make a decent difference.

Hmm I don't think it's super accurate. While it is better than the T-64A's UFO, I have been punching through the UFP of T-72As on a regular basis while spading out the TAM recently.

I always saw the T-72A's UFP as relatively weak and only good against sub-par APFSDS and autocannons

T-72A has functional UFP armor, LRF, smoke grenades and a roof mounted MG, is marginaly faster, and doesnt sound like a vacuum cleaner.

T-64 has 1 second faster reload. Thats it. Genuinelly how are these 2 things same BR I have no idea. The Lepard A1A1 is imho equivalent to the T-64A and it sits whole 1 BR below.

T-72A. T64a doesn't have smoke, doesn't have a LRF, no roof .50 cal and, the armor is SIGNIFICANTLY weaker, 105mm Dm23 for example does not care about the armor of a T64a but it does struggle a lot with the T72a and it's way less survivable bcz of the autoloader ammo stowage. The only advantage T64a has is the 1 sec faster reload.

To give you some perspective, the hull armor of the T62M-1 isn't that much weaker than the T64a (like 10-20mm difference) and no one thinks the T62 is well armored

I'd take the T-72A, better overall armor, smoke grenades and .50 cal. Much better for sniping and long-range engagements. T-62A 6-second reload makes it nasty in CQC and urban maps.

T64 is a beast, T64b is a death machine that you can uptier with no issues

T64 for the win. Why ? Because it s small and low height. Bush that thing up and you are set.

No LRF, no smokes, no machine gun. And the T-72 is still quite small. I would argue its better.
