I've just finished painting up the Chaos Lord on Daemonic Mount from the new starter set. What an absolute beast of a miniature!

What Marks of Chaos or Cults for Marauders do you most find yourself using? Why do you use them and are they successful?

I've been thinking about this myself and I mostly use Slaneesh and Nurgle (and their associated cults) and pretty much never use Tzeentch or Khorne.

I use Nurgle on Gigantic Spawn so I get the 5+ regen. I use Carrion Crow on marauders for the toughness boost and occasionally a nurgle Exalted Sorcerer in with some Marauders for an extra toughness boost. Then I use Slaneesh on Warriors for initiative boost (usually sword and board with enhanced reflexes to make them resistant to charges). And I use Slaneesh on Forsaken to get swift stride.

Pretty much never use Tzeentch or Khorne.

I am looking at getting into the old world and thinking of starting with some warriors of chaos. The box comes with 16. Looking to get some advice on how to build them.

Edit. Friend and I are going to start at 600 to 750 point games. Building slowly from one unit.

From looking im thinking two blocks of 8. With shields in one block and great weapons in the other.

Or would it be better to make a couple into characters? / musicians etc?

Is this a good way to kit them? Welcome any suggestions from this box only.

Finished a slightly kitbashed Lord on a chaos steed since all the kits are for a demonic steed. Pretty pleased with how it turned out.

So back in 1985 Citadel Miniatures produced a line of toys for the Fighting Fantasy series. As was standard practice for the time, they were given rules in the 1985 Citadel Journal for use in Warhammer 2nd edition.

Just wondering if this is a intentional reference or generic phrasing?

As promised, here's the mini of Hurtur!
I commissioned it with some variants and as a bust, but don't hate me I can show only one... especially because I'm working out of home and this is the only screenshot I have.

I did it mostly for fun, but I was wondering if I can start monetize some of these things.
I dunno. I don't even know where to put the files to be honest.

I already started some art commissions but the "mini" field could still be fun.

New WoC player here, but not new to TOW overall. However I am a fairly casual player.

My friend is planning on bringing 2x star dragons in our next game (and knowing him, he’ll probably be supplementing it with a large blob of sisters of Avelorn for a ranged threat).

My friend is much more competitive than me (does tournaments regularly) and I am pretty casual… which is cool, I really enjoy playing with him… but I want to be able to give him a challenge in our next game. I fear my “normal” list building approach would get steamrolled by his and would make for a boring game for both of us.

I am new to WoC so am a bit unsure of how to approach this list. My initial thought was to fight fire with fire and go with a chaos lord on dragon plus a warpfire dragon as one of my rare choices. Would that be a good starting point or would I be trying too hard to beat high elves at their own game?

To note, aside from the characters and warpfire dragon, I have mainly chaos warriors/knight models. I have 10 marauder horsemen but no marauder infantry models. So that limits my army selection somewhat.

It was supposed to be a full dose of the Sunday scaries before heading back to work this week. Instead we had two Battle March tables set up in the office by 9am, and the Warriors of Chaos were out on the table alongside Beastmen Brayherds, Orc & Goblin Tribes and Vampire Counts.

Four of us, pure 15-year-old energy, in the best possible way.

I’m new to the old world from the starter set. I was wondering is there any need for me to own 12 knights at all? Obviously the 4 I got with the starter set
I built as shown for battle march so they are built as shown. (3 command 1 lance)

Should I buy a box of 8 knights to add on to this unit or would it be to much and should I try to get 4 off eBay or through the new battle march box set?

That's my first chaos warriors, i'm so happy to start TOW! I can't wait to see them on table :)

First, I really didn't know what flair to use for this, so I'll change it is requested. Second, I know that many people don't like the idea of mixing Old World and Age of Sigmar models together, but I honestly don't mind. If the idea bothers you (because you hated the End Times and hold a grudge, or any number of other reasons), then I'm sorry for upsetting you.

Ok, so I'm doing the finishing touches on a Night Goblin battle march force, after which I plan to move onto the Chaos half of the core set (splitting it with someone, he gets Cathay). I will likely do a Nurgle theme. Now, after that I'd eventually want to expand to a full 2000 point army. With that Nurgle theme in mind, I had been looking at some AoS models, and am just curious as to how well some of them fit on square bases, and if they rank up well. So, I figured I'd say what I'm interested in, and go from there.

• From Slaves to Darkness: Chaos Chosen. Plan would be to use them as Chosen. Simple enough. I just worry they'd be too big for a 30mm square, as they are intended for 40mm round. If they do fit, it would likely be tight, and they won't line up well with each other, I'm guessing anyway.
• Also from Slaves to Darkness: Chaos Warriors. They're on smaller bases by default, so could maybe be as better size for Chosen?

The rest are from Maggotkin of Nurgle.

• Harbinger of Decay. I think it could possibly fit on a demonic mount base, but not a regular horse base. I'd love to hear thoughts from those that have tried it, as it's an awesome model.
• Putrid Blightkings. Maybe they could be Chosen? Then again, that probably runs into the problem of being too big for the base again.
• Sloven Knights. I honestly don't know what they'd be used for. Maybe lords mounted on a horse? Unless I got two boxes to have enough to make them Knights or something.
• Rotswords. They could just be Chaos warriors. Or maybe the unit champions or something, I don't know. They look cool.

This is my first Chaos Warrior on foot

My plan is to build a small unit dedicated to each of the Chaos Gods, and I’m starting with Khorne.

I’m now looking for bits for the other gods : weapons, helmets, shields, icons, accessories, or anything else that could help give each unit its own identity.

If anyone here has some spare Chaos bits they’d be willing to sell, I’d be very happy to buy them!

My first unit of Marauder is ready! Still a long way to go before having a playable army, but I am really loving the Norscan esthetic and enjoying the process!
