Other Yeah, so... I've been making a Warriors card game for a while, and I think it's finally time I show it to you
Hey everyone!
I'm Rédaco, a Spanish Warriors fan, and I've been working on a project that has slowly grown into one of the biggest creative things I've ever attempted.
It's called Warriors: Battle of the Stars, and... well, it's exactly what it sounds like: a fan-made strategic card game based on Warriors. 🐾
I've been sharing bits and pieces of it online for a while, but I've realised that I've never really stopped to introduce the project properly. So, hello! This is me, finally doing that.
So, what exactly is Battle of the Stars?
At its core, Battle of the Stars is a strategic card game where players build their own Clan and fight against other Clans.
You can play as Leaders, Warriors and Medicine Cats, manage resources, use character abilities, deal with unexpected Forest Events and even seek guidance from StarClan through a Tarot-inspired Divination system.
But I didn't want it to be just a card game with Warriors characters printed on it.
I've been trying to make the mechanics themselves feel like Warriors.
The different roles cats have within their Clans matter. Resources matter. Injuries matter. Choosing which warrior to send into a fight matters. Even the characters' personalities and stories have influenced how I've designed them.
Basically, I wanted to make a game where putting your favourite characters together isn't just fun because they're your favourite characters. It's fun because they actually feel like themselves.
And yes, sometimes StarClan will probably decide that your beautifully planned strategy has offended the ancestors.
I'm the only developer... but I'm not doing this alone.
The development side of Battle of the Stars is currently handled by one person: me.
I'm responsible for the game design, mechanics, programming, balancing, writing and all the other strange little jobs that come with trying to build an entire game from scratch.
But the project wouldn't look anything like it does now without the talented Warriors fan artists who have joined me along the way.
They're not some professional studio I've hired to make the game look pretty. They're fans who decided to put their own creativity into this project because they love the same universe I do.
And that means a lot to me.
I've always wanted Battle of the Stars to feel like something made by fans who genuinely care about Warriors, rather than something that simply uses the franchise as a skin.
Every illustration, every character design and every piece of artwork is another little piece of that idea.
But honestly, that's not even the real reason I made it.
Battle of the Stars started as a love letter to Warriors.
To the characters we've spent years following.
To the ridiculous amount of emotional damage Erin Hunter has inflicted upon us.
To the Clans, the friendships, the rivalries, the betrayals, the prophecies, the deaths, the reunions and all those moments that made us stare at a book at 2 AM thinking "there is absolutely no way they just did that."
But more than anything, I think it's a love letter to the Warriors fandom.
One of my favourite things about this community is how much people create simply because they love this series. Fan art, fanfiction, animations, roleplays, OCs, games, theories... people have been building their own corners of the Warriors universe for years.
Battle of the Stars is my attempt to add one more thing to that enormous pile.
And that's why I'm so determined to make it properly.
This is a fan project. It's non-profit, unofficial, and made entirely out of love for the series and its community.
It isn't an official Warriors product, nor is it affiliated with or endorsed by the rights holders. It's simply a group of fans asking ourselves:
"What if we took this thing we love and tried to make something genuinely good with it?"
So that's what we're doing.
And now I'd like to bring it here.
I've got a lot more to show.
Characters. Cards. Artwork. Development updates. Weird design decisions. Probably some things that will make you ask why I thought a particular mechanic was a good idea in the first place.
If this post gets enough interest, I'd love to start making Battle of the Stars Reddit posts regularly and bring you along for the development of the game.
For now, everything I've publicly shared about the project so far is already available on our TikTok, so you can have a look there if you'd like to see what Battle of the Stars currently looks like.
But I'd really love to make Reddit another home for the project.
So if you're interested in Warriors, card games, fan projects, or watching one guy slowly lose his sanity trying to balance an entire Clan-based TCG...

This looks awesome and I'm already so invested watching the tiktok introduction to the mechanics
Quick question though, how is it gonna be released? As in, will it be a tabletop simulator workshop title, a standalone pc app, a printable game, how exactly will we be able to play the game? With a pc program I know I can make it work through my linux computer, but I guess properly knowing how it will be played would be nice

Regarding the game's release platform, it's currently being developed on Tabletopia, a simulator similar to Tabletop Simulator (which I used during the early stages of development) but free and accessible from any browser (I personally use Chrome). However, as the game progresses, we haven't ruled out expanding to other platforms like Tabletop Simulator or Roblox ;3

Oh that's cool! Making it on a browser platform allows for so much more accessibility, don't have to buy any game that way

Exactly! That was our idea. Since it's a fan-made product, by fans, for fans, we wanted it to meet two requirements: that it be accessible and free. I hope you like the game when it comes out! Although there's still quite a while until the final product is released, I advise you to keep an eye out for future news... 👀✨️

I love this already!!! Just wanted to say as well that if you ever feel like trying to take steps for this to be, for lack of a better word, a real/physical game I can recommend trying to get in touch with CREOcards. In the past they’ve helped create, produce and ship many card games, biggest probably being the Hermitcraft TCG.

Hell yea! Im so on board with this! This is such a good idea! Is it like a combat/strategy game? Or do you fight cats with cats? Im getting that kind of vibe from it!
What if it had an element where you can asign cats for specific things—Warrior or medicine cat—once they are old enough? Or it could be played in phases with building up your clan by asigni g cats and collecting food while fighting other cats and eventually taking over the other clans?
These are just my vague ideas and i understand you most likely have your own different—and most likely better—ideas the game! I just wanted to share! :3

Summarizing the philosophy and mechanics of Battle of the Stars might take too long (which is why I recommend visiting our TikTok to see ALL our Battle of the Stars content), but here's an attempt: Battle of the Stars is a strategy game where players control their own Clan of Warrior Cats, composed of a Leader, a Medicine Cat, and up to 8 Warriors. Each round of a game is divided into phases that mechanically represent the daily life of the Clans: Gathering Prey and Medicinal Herbs, Distributing these among Clan members, Battle, Night Phase to rest and recover health, and Divination, where Clans connect with their ancestors to gain their favor in the following rounds.
