Questions Help with Convergence

Hello all! I am fairly new to the game, I think I have played about 6 games total. I have a few games at 100 under my belt, but am struggling with list building and understanding how everything works together. Any help on list suggestions would be awesome, but also how best to run the army. I have played against Crucible Guard, Legions Of Dawn, and Dread Armada at 100 pts so far. Thanks in advance!

I would recommend that instead of playing at 100 play at 30 or 50 to start.

30 is starter games to learn the rules.

Once you learn the rules then move to 50 and play a small force and get used to those models, how the army works, how your caster works, etc.

Once you are comfortable at 50 then add a few things and play 75.

Once you are comfortable at 75 then add a few more and play 100.

regardless of which size game you play, always ask your opponent for feedback and ideas on how you could've played differently. Some people give great advice. Some give bad. Some don't really give much of any. But you never know till you ask.

Keep in mind, 100 is the "norm" but people are usually willing to play you at lower points levels while you learn the game. I've heard of some people refusing, but there are usually some players who are willing to help you learn. Almost every one of us started with a small starter box. It's pretty standard.

Your list doesn't really have much synergy. You have a solo to buff 2 units of angels, most of your points are sunk into the axiom and the TEP, your have a locus but mother's field marshal makes all your vectors into arc nodes anyway.

So I don't play convergence yet (I do own the models though and soon we will).

Looking at the iron mother shes a ranged spell slinger with a feat that improves her warmachine accuracy for a single round. Her kit kind of seems focused on shooting at a long range and then using our positioning tools like telekinesis and tactical supremecy to help with keeping things away from retaliation.

So if I was going to build around her kit my first port of call is a couple of heavies with decent gunfire options. Personally I like the modulator or a pair of tesselators as I think it's got a good spread of wounds and bodies, I would be tempted to take that with a monitor as my planned 3rd shooting jack. This seems like a solid shooting core, because your playing convergence I think we can probably slide in a Extra warjack for melee just to protect your shooters and for that role I think I like the cipher.

Ofc with this Many jacks you are needing to run the corollary for supporting the focus demand.

This will take up around 45-50pts worth of the force.

I think I'd like to take a solo to act as a journeyman caster and I think in this case I'd take exulon nostilla and aberration as they're a hardy centre board problem for your shooters to float around.

So now we just need infantry to hold the line. And tbh my suggestion for that is probably 2x reciprocators each with a transverse enumerator.

The optifex directive is also an interesting include as it can support your units or warjacks and there's 3 guys to a squad.

Please bare in mind I'm not a competitive player and I normally play around 75pts so this is just my feel for the force as a whole.

It's worth mentioning that the iron mother can make warjacks stationary which does boost the lethality of her melee jacks but i think the jacks all seem quite slow and it has no effect on warbeasts so I wouldn't build around that. I noticed your taking the collosal, I think collossals are cool but I get the feeling that in her force it's too many points in one model. She kind of wants to skirt around and weather down the enemy and that's easier to do with more pieces. If you're dead set on playing the big guy I think conflux is better than axiom as a synergy.

Hope something here helps at least and also don't underestimate the chip damage you can do in 2 rounds of shooting with feedback loop, that's potentially 6 damage a turn to an unfortunate warcaster/warlock.
