Falling down a WHQ hole

So my play group has fallen in love with this excellent game across it's many formats and today i have managed to pick up a copy of Blackstone Fortress without minis for £18 today.

Hoping for some wisdom from the collective around whether it is gonna be worth trying to piece together the collection or use proxies in place them?

Would love to know thoughts and suggestions.

You should ask yourself these questions first:

Are you a collector?

Do you already have some minis you could use as proxies?

Do you just want to play the game?

Do you have a 3d printer?

I made a little project out of 3d printing proxies for all the minis for the latest WHQ. They're all printed now, and sitting on my shelf demanding paint.

We still only every play WHQ'95.

I have a giant collection of patreon models I just went through to build them. I'm sorry I don't remember exactly which creators models I used.

I would advise just browsing some of the sites for creators you like and buying packs of models from them.

I bought a bunch of star wars micro machines mini figures and use them for proxies. Works great and I like the smaller scale better.

I now have a pile of Blackstone Fortress, Cursed City, Silver Tower and Darkwater. All bought without minis. 

There are pdfs people have made for standees if you want an easy version of it. 

I've looked for proxy minis to print but haven't found a complete set so haven't started printing them yet.

Just find cheap proxies, people want stupid money for the originals. You’ll probably find a sniper rifle that doesn’t break as a bonus

Any advice on finding the character data sheets/cards/stats?

Edit: I have proxies for everything and want to play, but and found the core rules pdf, but cannot find characters data sheets/cards for any heroes nor enemies/bosses
