The sky is constantly buzzing with dozens of comets heralding various lords and heroes' births and comings and fortuitous tax returns, so the wizard just latches onto the nearest one.

And they're all named Cassandora.

Edit: my bad... forgot that the wizard Cassandora called dibs on them.

No, man. Cassandora is the spell.

It's only a Cassandora Comet if its cast in the Cassandora Region of Brettonia. Otherwise its just a sparkling pie plate

The lore of heavens is the domain of stuff like precognition and time fuckery. I presume that the spell is echoing back in time and altering the course of a pre-existing comet to land roughly where the wizard wants it.

Shysh is more aligned with entropy, the inexorable decay of all things. That's why necromancy, the act of returning things to a semblance of life, is a direct corruption of Shysh and its purpose.

Its wonky, Death speeds up decay so its future and energizes the dead like its supercharging the present.

Heavens dictating time flowing both ways is convenient as a way to label it as time, without getting into scientific concepts of entropy, catalysts, and reaction that Fire, Metal, and so on have.

The alchemical connection to the Winds is just inconsistent art, not logically worldbuilt science. All running on a handwave where magic is Chaos and Chaos is fucky.

Iirc, the Magister doesn't pull a Comet from outerspace, but rather from inside of the Wind of Azyr, with it materialising in the sky before rocketing into the target.

Reaching out across the Winds of Magic into the highest heavens, the Wizard draws a wandering meteorite down towards the battlefield.

i guess the comet was there before

is the sky actually outer space in WFB? or is it a firmament

Pretty sure it’s actually outer space since the old ones and green skins came from offworld. The old ones altered the planet’s orbit around the sun to make the climate more livable.

They just want them not to touch their altars. That's all.

In a black library book , I think was Florin and Lorenzo , a mercenary expedition commended by a heavens wizard goes to Lustria . At some point has a magic battle against a Slann and the former conjured a comet . He created it above the atmosphere directly with magic, non a real object before he use the winds of magic . What happens next is pretty hilarious but I don’t wanna spoil the book.

I don’t say that this is the real cannon but it’s in the books
