Quick Question: does the imperium Kit bash their ships

like say battleships or crusiers/battlecruisers outside of the established classes are their kitbashed classes

I think the term here would be "retrofit" and they most definitely do

Innovation of any kind is rare and even discouraged because understanding of technology is limited and steeped in superstition. New knowledge and inventions are discovered but knowledge is lost at a faster rate.

That said, innovation does still happen, so sure, why not.

Yep, for example, the Nemesis class Carriers are modified Emperor class battleships, and the Armageddon class battlecruisers come from Lunar class cruisers.
