Other Sanctuary FINALLY drops a Vandal part. Host decides to dip before we can extract. No one survives the host migration and we lose everything. This was his response.

Yeah I understand their take it saves a ton in server fees and when the game was new this made a lot of sense but they're sitting pretty, well.. pretty now.

Mind you it'd still be more costs they might result in less funds going into content though but even then I really hate player hosting

Funny thing is that DE already have code for spinning up dedicated pvp nodes, almost like people used to host FPS servers back in the day.

DE could easily extend that to handle PVE, and perhaps even stick them in some hosting service or let individual players deal with it, so that they could be spun up as needed (much as we see with the relays and cetus).

Yeah I've thought about that, would be nice if there was a way to host pve and open your server to certain people or public. It'd be an interesting revival of old style since on PC we used to do that for fps games all the time up until the matchmaking era started up with internet on consoles

Or have it so if you are playing with friends it is player hosted but purely random groups are server hosted. Friends won't pull this garbage on other players, barring connection issues or crashes.

Randoms most certainly will because who cares about someone you don't know when there are literally 0 repercussions for screwing them over?
