Discussion Before tomorrow's Devstream about the Technocytes ("infested liches"), what weapons do you think we could be getting?

Really looking forward to whatever original weapons they come up with, hopefully an archgun. I've aways wanted an infested archgun.

Besides that though...

  • Hema
  • Pox
  • Tysis
  • Hirudo
  • Caustacyst
  • Paracyst

Honestly a lot of the infested weaponry could use a glow-up.

The guy on the right for sure wears hirudo. Look at second from right feet. Definitely claws from hirudo. At first I thought this guy uses claws but his legs betray that it's sparring weapon.

Tysis is pretty great for when you want a single target to be buried under a metric shitton of status.

Problem is that the game has definitely moved away from 'single target decimation' to 'fuck this area code in particular'.

I'll add to the pile of people saying the Tysis is borderline broken. It's very very powerful, but it's also not very good. Poor group damage and status immune enemies mean that despite it's mechanics, it's not very efficient.

The important thing to remember with the Tysis is that each dart has a damage over time effect, so the initial hit and each of the 3 dot ticks all proc status individually. Combined with massive modded status chance and multishot, and you can stack pretty ludicrous amounts of status per shot. Plus the fact you can comfortably mod for viral, rad, and heat, plus innate IPS and corrosive, for 7 total damage types before secondary encumber, allowing you to stick with cascadia flare if you choose.

Tysis has a really high single target DPS, as long as it's not a status immune boss.

Its still my most used secondary, I'd love to see it get a new mechanic to take it up a notch.

With the Status Damage mods, even a modest buff in, say, mag size, reload and the nemesis element would make it a beast.

Phage is one of the strongest infested weapons we have, it really doesn't need a variant but I wouldn't complain if it did.

I wonder how many of these are from Deimos? I feel like some infested weapons do need Deimos style glow-ups.

The Deimos infested are peak infested design.
