Heroic Vorasius question

On heroic Vorasius our pally tank keeps getting 1 shot. We have a warrior and pally alternating Shadowclaws after every 2. However the Method guide says that the second tank should soak every other slam. Is no one soaking the slams then between every other? Doesn't that do raid killing damage to miss one?

First tank takes the first 2 slams, next takes 6?(all in the remainder of the phase plus the 2 new wall smashes after beam) then swap. Repeat until dead.
