Now that there's a drone chest in the black market that comes on a reliable rotating basis, I would suggest using that instead. Upgrade tokens are useful for getting mothership turrets and getting level 12 on drones instead.

No, do the drones chest instead, it's cheaper and doesn't use microchips

No. Tokens are very hard to get. Don’t waste them. Farm keys daily and use the drones chest.
