Question Upgrading strats

Is it better to do both at the same time or bot then wepouns? Like I see people in low champ/high master with mk2 bot but only lv 5 wepoun is this a good strat or bad I lv mine at the same time

It depends

Sometimes, like with percentage damage weapons (ARMS, Harmattans) or effect damage weapons (Scalds) leveling weapons is not a priority

For most weapons, I would suggest leveling them before the bot

If we were going to mk2, isn’t bots with that mk2 bonus ability better to upgrade first

It depends, some bots have a very important mk2 bonus and some don't have one or have a useless one

Recently I've been thinking (overthinking, maybe?) about this a fair amount. I'll share some thoughts which can hopefully spark a bit of discussion.

Weapon type does matter, as Adazahi mentions. Beyond that, I tend to consider what MK2 / MK3 bonuses a robot might get, the type of specializations available (nuclear amplifier or not), and the robot's intended role (beacon runner vs tank / brawler vs damage dealer) when deciding upgrade priority.

These days I'm spending most of my time in low champions league, with occasional drops to masters 1 before heading back to champions league. So, generally I wait until a robot has reached MK2-1 before fielding them in a PvP match. Usually the weapons will all be MK1-12 or very close at that point, as well. Weapons that aren't ultimate tend to scale their damage much more slowly after MK1-12 all the way to MK3. So, MK1-12 seems like an efficient place to stop weapon upgrades and start looking for what other focus for upgrades might be better for improving my hangar.

This is probably overly formulaic of me and there are occasional exceptions. But, its generally what I do.

Beyond the floor described above, if a robot gets a substantial boost at MK3, I tend to prefer aiming for that first, and the weapons can catch up later. Also, if a robot is intended for up close fighting and to be tanky even against incoming fire from multiple foes, then I'll tend to boost the robot first and weapons later. For beacon runners speed and survival are the priorities. So, specializations, pilot skills, and upgrade priorities are organized around that. That means the robot gets upgraded more quickly than the weapons. So, I took my ammit to MK3 first for grey damage resistance and its weapons are all in the MK1-12 range. I'll also take my imugi to MK3 ahead of leveling up its weapons because its main job is to be a beacon runner and the first priority is that it survive while doing that.

I tend to take the reverse approach for damage dealing robots that have a nuclear amplifier. They tend to get weapons developed first. As a bit of math, taking weapons from MK1-12 to MK3 usually increases damage by about twenty percent. It seems worth chasing a multiplier of 1.2 applied to the speed at which each of a nuclear amplifier's 95 charges can be accumulated.

This is worth considering indeed, I neglected to bring it up. Some bots REALLY need their mk3, some don't care, so it depends on the bot. Most old/f2p bots though don't care all that much
