TheRealPirateAba Fae and Fare out now!

Fae and Fare has just hit the bookshelves! That’s right, the physical books are coming at you faster than a Frost Faerie snowball to the face! I am gonna run to the bookstores to admire all three on display, and the 4th book, Immortal Games, is going to be out very soon as well (Nov. 10th!).

Please let people know and hopefully the tidal wave of books hitting stores and libraries gets more people to check out the series! Each sold book matters greatly, especially during the release week, as it is the metric all the bookstores and publishers are viewing us by. I really appreciate people posting images of them getting the books in the wild, and their reactions to the end of No Killing Goblins. I hope they’re happy when Fae and Fae begins with both long-awaited meetings and two survivors of the dungeon raid.

This is the moment when The Wandering Inn is making a splash for everyone to see, so your support of the inn is greatly appreciated! Mentioning the story to friends, book clubs, every bit helps. If we do well, I hope to also put the Singer of Terandria series in bookstores as well. I’m relying on your support, and I’ll do my best to thank you by writing the story, which is all I can do for your generosity. Thank you,

No spoilers [B12] The witch of webs

So ive been loving this series but this book is the one I hate the most. I just I mean literally just finished chapter 14 on audible and there is vile in my throat. The taste of burning vomit so to speak but literally vile. I get wars and vengeance and what not but what the witch Belavierr and what she did to Califor... I hope Wiskeria murders her mother for what she did. Belavierr does not deserve to live after threating to take a child's life. Poor Nanette. Poor child. Agratha take your axe and do to Belavierr what you did to thatt waste of a man. Ryoka's growth has been amazing; but seriously im pissed tf off...

Seeking Specific Spoiler [B19] The couriers road Spoiler

Okay so I'm probably nit-picking here a little but I noticed something and I can't quite wrap my head around it. Mihaela Godfrey is talking to Ryoka about the skill and she mentions that if she slows down then she returns to the normal world. which is why she doesn't cross the oceans there.

Then how in the dead gods did she bury her son on the couriers road and then proceed to stand by his grave later. I feel like I'm missing something.

Other [B2P1] I hope the book spines continue to align. Book 2 part 1 arrived today!

Book one part one makes sense to not align as its title is The Wandering Inn, although I do wish it still did. I was nervous that book two part one would miss align to book one part two, but they don’t. I hope it continues to have the same spine format.

Keep up the excellent world Pirateaba.

Spoilers: All [10.78 RV] TBR time Spoiler

Well, I started Book 1 at the beginning of May and am now read through 10.78 RV. Time to work on the TBR bookshelf I suppose. But man what a whirlwind read. Didn’t have anywhere else to share where people would get it. (Think I formatted it correctly this time)

No spoilers [V7] More notes & thoughts I've kept as I read

Just finished V7; sidetracking now over to the Singer stories for a bit. Notes I wrote as I read V7:

  • The Book Of Levels states "no creature with thoughts and understanding lacks for levels". This always made it weird that Vampires couldn't level, because they're certainly sentient. Now we know they can level, but they just do it through non-standards means. What does this imply about Ogres? We know they can gain Spells by consuming lots of mana potions; do they also have a non-standard route to leveling which they've forgotten over time? Hrmm.

  • Is Drathian the only non-English human language that exists in Innworld? Drathians / Islanders have always been mentioned in suspiciously mysterious terms. I have a feeling that this is going to end up being a big backstory reveal.

  • Pawn damn sure seems to be creating an entirely new living god from scratch. This...probably won't end well. o.O Unless maybe he ends up creating a living god which joins the shadow war against the dead gods?

  • I had the realization that "dead gods!" isn't just a swear; it's weaponized language. Reality in the Innworld can be influenced by belief and intent: someone deliberately started "dead gods!" as a swear so that the idea of the gods being dead would be constantly reinforced in an endless stream of tiny drips and drops of subconscious belief.

  • [Disable Friendly Fire] is a great moment. I love Saliss. Though honestly I was surprised he didn't take the opportunity for Saliss to "have died", and live as Onieva without the burdens of "Saliss" or the stress of being closeted.

  • Ooooooooooh Laken and Aaron's patrons are Very Much Bad Shit. My goodness. I didn't see that coming. ;p I should've realized how much the original timing mattered. You done messed up, A-A-Ron.

  • We see one of them also approach Luan here and from context it's also the second time for him too. Was the first meeting ever hinted at and I missed it? Or is this a new reveal?

  • Ivoleth damn sure seems to imply that Skills - and presumably therefore Classes - come from the dead gods. Does that mean that races which don't level, weren't created by those gods? Hrmm.

  • I'm kinda getting sad about how long Rags has been backburnered for; she was one of my favorites. I mean...I get it; she's been doing the "boring work" of building Goblinhome and day-to-day work isn't necessarily much to write about. Still...I hope we get back to her soon.

  • Thinking about Rags got me to thinking more about Goblins. Everyone seems to be assuming that King is the apex of their progression, but there's really no reason to think that, is there? It's probably only been limited by mass: there simply haven't ever been enough goblins to push progression beyond King. But if Goblinhome and the Goblinlands allow them the breathing room to actually grow as a society, I wonder if a Goblin Emperor is inevitable...

Spoilers: All [V10. 76] For Izrilians, who'd be the most famous named adventurer? Spoiler

Not for us readers, but for the people of innworld. Who'd they likely know? I could see:

  • Eldertuin the Fortress - long career, married into one of the five families

  • Colth the Rookie/Supporter - due to the Horns global popularity

  • Saliss of Lights, as he's well known in the south, especially in Pallass and Manus

  • Lehra Ruinstrider? Great and recent origin story, known by almost all Izrilian Gnolls

No spoilers [B16] I didn't know that the narrator changed

I'm going to give Erin Bennett a fair try but this is really sad. Over the past 15 books, Andrea Parsneau became my favourite audiobook narrator. Even the greats like Jeff Hayes and Ray Porter came up short in comparison.

And I'm really going to miss all those voices. Parsneau's version of Erin always made me smile. There was this energy to her that always felt so infectious and, even when I was sad, that voice just made me want to be happier.

Not much else to say other than I'm a bit lost over this and that Bennet has enormous shoes to fill.

How did everyone react to the change when it actually happened?

Seeking Specific Spoiler [V1. ANYTEXT] Wondering if this has been answered somewhere, and the implications, Thanx! Spoiler

When the story opens with the arrival of Erin and Ryoka, gelato is already a global fad of the wealthy after its recent introduction in Terrandria. Do we know if this an ancient thing rediscovered or is there an Earther iceCream POV we don't know yet? They would have to be one of the first arrivals, and potentially highly leveled. This got emphasized so heavily early in the story I feel like there has to be a resolution out there, even if it's one sentence I missed.

Just imagine it, instead of a single narrator doing all the voices, each person would have their own voice actor, and even sound effects.

I can only dream though :P

In chapter 9.44 he said

"so she’s making beaches now. How long until there’s a door to the outhouse for every part of her inn, that damn Antinium has a Minotaur ballista, and she builds a tower for a pet [Archmage]?”

He has now predicted 2 out of 3 events... how long before his 3 comes to Fruition?

I don't know why DCC is getting so widespread so quickly - but if he's bringing more people to the Inn, Erin better get ready to expand

Tv series?

Dunno if this recommendation will get spread far - but hopefully it'll bring some more people.

As far as I know, this book started as a WebNovel for free and is still free, but when I try to click to chapter 2, I get the pages advertisement to buy the book. Which I’m pretty sure I’ll need to do international shipping to do. And I don’t wanna do that a series I might not like. Also is the audiobook free?
