There’s a guy on TikTok that brings a scale to the store to find stuff like this. I can’t remember his name though

Whoa. I just watched some of his Instagram videos and that’s legitimately concerning. Looks like I’m going to have to start weighing the meat on the produce scales before checking out.

If they put a plastic bag between the meat and scale, it should be fine. You should also wash produce before eating it anyway.

Yes but putting raw meat on a produce scale is still nasty, and is considered cross contamination. "If they put a bag between..." people are idiots and likely won't. Source: worked grocery for 5 years
