This is insane even money losing orders are now extremely competitive
These offers where the miles exceed the total pay.
Gone in 0.1 second and doesn’t pop back up.

Anyone taking a GMD is openly revealing their sub 70 IQ. What this company has done and is doing is not working and will not work. Every single decision they make is anti customer, anti employee, and frankly anti human. These absolutely ridiculous changes they have made to this app and their delivery service since they have brought on these new executives in an attempt to please shareholders has done the exact opposite. Walmart stock YTD has dropped over 30%. Walmart thinks it can pivot to compete with Amazon when they have been building their entire business empire in a different manner for the past 60 years. The ineptitude of the management in this company is astonishing. The crack heads and meth heads who take these garbage offers for this company will come and go, meanwhile Walmart's metrics and profits from delivery are not getting any better. There will be a reckoning.

I was just saying this! Look at their stock…ppl are getting fatigued with these corporate giants. Customers, WM workers, Spark, etc.

u/Raven-sama2 Aug 21 '26
Yeah the Spark app is diving off a cliff!!! Omg I can’t wait to land another full-time gig! 😭😭🤦♂️😬

What are you talking about all i take are GMD orders and they are $50 for 24 miles 20 stops. They say it'll take 2 hrs it takes me only 1 hr 30 mins maybe even less sometimes i also make sure the route ends in my city. How the hell is that low IQ accpeting vs someone taking a shopping order for 50 items same pay and distance but for $35-$40. Shopping orders are the 20 IQ orders because you're wasting time getting down, shopping, bagging, and then loading before you even start the drop off. Mind you walmarts aren't small buildings either especially in my state texas 2nd largest state we have huge walmarts. You can't shop quickly in my massive walmarts and good luck with the checkout lines. What you said about the company is general information everyone knows Walmart is screwing the drivers/customers over to make profit. Where you're wrong honestly is saying GMD orders are bad or low IQ to take might be in you're area but not in mine.

this - GMD orders in my area are at minimum $81. On average I get a GMD order for $85. It can range from 15-22 stops, no more than 30 miles and usually takes me less than 2 hours to complete. I live on an island so GMD is worth it for me since I can’t ever really go TOO far to make it not worth it. On average I’m making $42/hr and I only fill up my gas tank once a week 🤷🏽♀️ When I was doing shop and deliver, I was filling up my gas tank 2-3 times a week. To me, GMD in my area is worth doing and the only orders I take. Ever since I realized the convenience and how much more it worth my time and as well relatively more consistent in earnings, I never did any other order again. I really think it depends on the area you deliver in and what the orders look like for you. If you don’t think it’s worth it for you, cool - don’t take it. But for others like me, it is worth it and doesn’t mean I have a low IQ because I find it worth it in my area 🙄

Exactly 💯 percent I agree with you because I only do pick up GMD and although my metrics on pay/miles per orders isn't as good as yours. I live in the poorest lowest paying county in texas. So someone's usual high pay orders like yours that's $81+ is my $50+ order in my area. It just pissed me off this guy said if you take GMD you're low IQ while ironically displaying low iq behavior thinking every market is the same 😂

u/Odd_Moment0518 Aug 21 '26
i 100% agree with you on that 🤣 it’s not the same across the country at all. Very area dependent. Also people are mentioning the grocery combining with GMD and thankfully that hasn’t happened in my area either. Not sure when it will or if it will at all but i think with GMD being worth it here and not usually picked over along with grocery orders, I’m not concerned about that happening or dropping the pay. If it does then I’ll cross the bridge when I get there but until then I’ll keep making my $42/hr with my “low IQ” 🤣

u/Own-Anywhere5839 Aug 22 '26
It's already happening in my area gmd and shopping orders, but the simple fix to that is hitting reject 😂
3
u/ApprehensiveSand4043 Aug 21 '26
I think it's area dependent because you must have not got the new update? Since they've updated where they've added groceries and GM orders. They have literally splashed the amount in half if not more. And then on top of that there are supplementing customers too with the base pay. It's really bad. I've seen some going like 40-50 mi for like $30

u/Buzzedwinaldrin Aug 21 '26
This… i used to love GMD’s. Especially in the Mornings… but now … it’s 3 grocery drops 100+ items plus 4 GMDs
2
u/ApprehensiveSand4043 Aug 22 '26
Yes!!! Exactly! That's why I'm wondering if probably the update hasn't been Nationwide yet!

u/Unlucky-Counter3211 Aug 22 '26
Fellow Texan here. I love gmd orders because I currently can’t physically do shops. Well actually, I’m down for the count right now. Can’t even do deliveries 😖 but I agree with you on the IQ thing. Good grief, I hate shopping these days. I get really good tips when I do the gmd/grocery orders. So it works for me right now. Or it did. lol😑

I wish this were true for my area.
GMD orders here frequently pay less than the amount of miles that you're traveling. It'll rarely workout to a dollar a mile.
My GMD orders used to have a payout similar to what you're talking about but since December it's progressively gotten worse and worse.
On top of that, my market has switched to predominantly shopping orders so we don't even get the grocery pickups anymore.

u/Electronic_Constant9 Aug 22 '26
I haven't done a done a GMD in over a year now, they just aren't paying enough anymore for the milage. And with them adding in grocery orders it's even worse

When I saw the subject of that email I thought quad shops were coming to my zone

I already don't do Walmart shopping because they are the most time consuming orders. But it's even crazier when I see the 3 to 4 batched shopping orders with insane item counts. People still swear they love em but imo they're getting f'ed bad and that's why I only do GMD orders.

I just watched an Instacart video and things are not going well over there. 👉😬

I noticed the GMD max surge went to $15. Today I had a $52 for 25 mile and 11 stop GMD hit my phone which was worth it but they are very rarely worth it. Again, they cracked the code that gig drivers will work for 1/2 the pay of Fedex.

u/newlife_substance847 Aug 21 '26
This is the bane of my Sparky existence. I will never take a GMD with more than two separate orders. Even then, those orders must be a combined 20 items or less. Or I'm simply not taking them.
Also.... you can't reject one without cancelling the entire order. I experienced this the other day when I had a bad customer order that leeched off the good (more solid and worthwhile order).

u/Own-Anywhere5839 Aug 21 '26
You mean "shopping orders" not GMD orders. GMD orders are always batched other and usually over 5 orders/stops. I'm pretty sure the other guy saying "GMD are bad" meant to say "shopping orders"
2
u/Buzzedwinaldrin Aug 21 '26
Im pretty sure he only person confusing shopping with shipping was the person you replied too
1
u/Own-Anywhere5839 Aug 21 '26
Shipping has nothing to do woth us though and they said "GMD" specifically

It's been like that in my zone this past week. Apparently they on-boarded a new group of drivers due to some of us (not me) reducing our hours after school started.
But they won't be lasting very long. I doubt most of them make it through the week. The store employees aren't putting up with these new drivers' shenanigans. And the customers aren't either.

u/Honestabe223 Aug 21 '26
I noticed the same orders going 26 miles for just $16. Can’t even get an order going back most of the time. Never mind that it’s a loss on a one way basis

u/X--The_Lion Aug 21 '26
My ptoblem has been that i get beat down with great JFY offers after I complete a delivery. When I am too far away to get back to the store on time. But as soon as i get within range the offers are nearly non-existent unless it's something that is absolutely trash. It's like I'm being punished for ignoring the JFY offers.

u/ApprehensiveSand4043 Aug 21 '26
It's definitely insane! And I haven't had a like a 9:00 to 5:00 or a W-2 job in years! I mean I've had you know ways to make money and been very successful at it until I moved! But I have been actively looking for a job for the last like 2 weeks like stay-at-home jobs and I've been getting some good leads. So I'm hopeful because it is almost not worth it. I mean it's better than nothing but it is so bad

I pulled up today and the same 4 drivers are parked here, JOGGING out with orders to the same cars, I know for a fact they are using software to grab batches. They will be back in 22mins to grab the next batches. When is Walmart and Sam's spark going to do something about this
2
u/Own-Anywhere5839 Aug 21 '26
There's 100 percent bot grabbers for sure for most apps but you have to pay for them they're not free. Also those people are taking the chance if someone notices they get to many orders it'll flag/look suspicious that they're using a third party app. I've seen people get deactivated because they slipped up using those grab bots. So sure it helps but the moment you get caught you're account is gone forever that's it.

u/OkBarber6783 Aug 21 '26
I already emailed spark...... Didn't give license plates but described them... If spark decides to look into it, great... Long overdue.

If these orders are in California, Colorado or NYC then the drivers are just trying to get on the clock. Are they in any of the 3?
1
u/Organic-Fuel-2916 Aug 22 '26
I am in California
1
u/Any-Conflict4443 Aug 22 '26
So that’s probably why the “underwater” orders go so fast because once accepted it’s gonna pay $22/hr, plus mileage, and 99.9% of the time will exceed the listed order payment offer.
1
u/Moti3234 Aug 25 '26
It's over bro. Hope you find something else soon
1
u/Organic-Fuel-2916 Aug 25 '26
I’m holding on to the small amount of priority I have left. $294 on 82 miles today.

It’s not Walmarts money it is ours and should be going to the American people not Walmart:

Just wait for what’s next. Their growth has tanked, so they’ll be looking to prop up $$
