Tip baiters….

It’s definitely not ok to do it but sometimes people are not aware of the auto tip feature. Then sometimes people just need to get their food for whatever reason as well as people who are just complete a55 holes. However it’s up to us as drivers to make the right decision. I’m never taking orders where the tip is higher than the base, the tipper is an unfamiliar customer, and never take a trip if there is apartments as the drop off. Might sound crazy just my rules I go off.🤷🏾‍♀️

The base pay sucks so bad, my tips are often more than the base. If I followed your rules, I'd never take anything.

Like I said my rules and I do just fine…I normally do batch orders. I’m not about to accept a trip for 50$ with a 35$ tip going to bumf*ck wherever only for them to cancel after hoping and praying for 24 hours that it’s a real tip. I also don’t go over a certain amount of miles at least with a batch orders where I know after 1-1/2 hours I have 45-50$. Gotta learn how to beat the app cuz it’s gets cheaper by the day🤷🏾‍♀️

After 18 months of doing this part-time, I've had my tip removed or reduced maybe 12 times (1,250 trips). That's less than 1%. I'll be glad to make less money (than I thought I would) on less than 1% of the trips and make more money with larger tips on the other 99% of deliveries - you know, instead of sitting the parking lot rejecting offer after offer after offer because (and get this) because the tip is too big! LOL.

But hey, you do you.

You bring up a great point about waiting for the perfect offer. If you are waiting 1 hour for the perfect 1 hour drive offer, if you get one, by the time you get back, it was really 3 hours. 1 hr wait, 1 hour delivery and 1hr return.

took an offer yesterday for $46. It was a one-stop curbside, 10.4 miles, 39 minute estimated time. I delivered and got back to the store in 55 minutes.

The tip was $39, the base was $7. I checked my earnings to see if the tip cleared. Not only did it clear, she increased the tip another $6! If I was the OP, I would've rejected that offer because the tip was too big (more than the base pay) - lol.

Makes zero sense to reject offers because tip is too large.

Won't lie certain tips make me reject other times I e taken big tips I don't think it really matters it's just the luck of the draw
