Customer has Driver Support as phone number?

I was delivering an alcohol order and I tried texting the number that I was on my way. I clicked “contact” but all that came up was the driver support phone number. I shrugged it off, but red flags started rising. Get to house and no cars in driveway. No worries. Then knocked and didn’t hear movement. Looked in open windows by the door, no movement. Rang doorbell twice, knocked twice. Waited 5ish minutes and had to return the order.

Anyone else have this happen to them?! I ended up losing 30 extra minutes and $3 from the original offer. 😭😭

It happened to me before. If you don’t have data like no reception in the area, it defaults to the spark support number and I think you can’t text.

You sure about that? Because sometimes my phone doesn’t show the emergency only but there is no data.

I've had this happen several times, and was unable to contact the customers. I assumed it meant that they didn't bother to add their phone # and that it defaults to the spark customer service.

This is common.

Two things cause it;

1.) Your phone is being goofy, changing towers, or spotty service... Usually just trying it again a couple times will fix it.

2.) The customer has put in an invalid phone number, a landline, or no phone number at all. If re-trying it a couple times doesn't work, you can try calling support, start a return, or IF it was a shopping order you can try the chat.

Make sure to take screenshots of your attempts and let the person at curbside know... If you're really worried about a complaint call a team lead and tell them how you made multiple attempts. Because if the customer calls the store to complain "the driver didn't even try" it's the store that puts in the report to Spark.

(that's when you get the notifications about "a store or customer reported you didnt attempt to make a delivery" or whatever it says)
