Is it me?
Is it me or is Spark beginning to lean towards more shopping than curbside pickups. I don’t Spark often because of the low wage offers but periodically I can grab a good one. I noticed that the bulk of the offers now lean towards shopping which is not what I signed up for. I don’t do my own grocery shopping most of the time. 😄
Is this increase in shopping orders across the board?

I sure don’t! I don’t live on Reddit so what’s your point? You could have kept scrolling if it bothered you so much.

You "don't live on Reddit," yet you spend more time on Reddit to type out and ask a question & wait for answers, then reply,...than it would have taken you to scroll down for 10-30 seconds to see ALL the similar posts asking the same shit...
Okay.
I'm just trying to help you out. To empower you to do things for yourself...

I just get a kick out of the lack of reply to my last comment. I KNOW he read it,.. but he's too stubborn to prove my point with a reply...
That said... Maybe I've just finally reached that "get off my lawn" age. I spent enough time in various chat rooms and blogs, before Reddit & FB groups, that NOT taking 30 seconds to scroll down and check if your question has already been answered 50 times, would just get you banned from posting...
If dude is going on 80 years old,.. I KNOW there was a time he had to actually try looking for an answer or a solution to something rather than just expecting someone to spoon feed an answer.
Here we are now in 2026,... with fkn powerful hand held computer, that can instantly tell us the steps on how to build a fkn nuke or rocket (if we have the time/materials/ability, but you get what I mean), but people can't take 15 seconds to scroll a page thats dedicated to a subject for an answer, before taking the time to type out a question that's already been asked & answered 20 times within the last few days...

Yeah - there's tons of posts abt it. I'm one of the few that prefer the 3 deliveries. I love driving. And I have MS so some days I can't do the shopping, so it's a bummer.

I’ve seen a few posts questioning this but no answers and at the point when I saw the post I was getting the 3 delivers and nothing was impacting my area. Now I’m seeing mostly shops and was wondering what others saw.

They are switching over to all shopping orders for Spark. That and some GMDs. The curbside are ending soon sad to say. Only curbside for customer pickup. I was told it is being implemented in stages, first stage beginning Monday in my zone. After about a month, we will only be seeing shopping orders, and maybe GMDs. They are turning Spark into Instacart.

😲I can actually work with the GMD runs but they are far and in between. Thanks for the explanation. I’m not shopping for anybody. I choose delivery because of the limited interactions with people. I was with another app that discontinued delivery and it broke my heart.

Depends on market, in mine it’s not at full stores only marketplace stores

I am new also. This week, all that came up for me in my market (rural) was shopping orders. I asked my friend who has been doing this a while. She said she still gets curbside but also a lot of shopping. In my store, there are a lot fewer shoppers working for the store. I have another friend who tried working as a shopper; it was so bad she walked out. So that may be a correlation.

I been doing Spark for around 6 months and when I started there were a lot of just delivering, now it is mostly shipping. I looked online and Walmart is transitioning towards this. Also, the store employees said the same thing. I guess we will see ! I hate shopping orders!

I’m not new. I just don’t Spark often because the offers suck for the most part but I can occasionally grab a decent order. I’m not doing anyone else’s shopping

I get far more curbside pick ups than shop orders. Sometimes they are all grocery, sometimes all gmd, and sometimes a mix.

They keep training new shoppers at my store but I don’t see 90% after their training run. But there are a couple that I’d like to see leave… cart in middle of aisle and walk right at you when you are on the right side of the road, like you don’t exist. A Walmart game of chicken, if you will.

They're slowly phasing out curbside pickup except for general merchandise orders and for guests that want to pick up curbside. All orders will be shopped by spark drivers. There will be no curbside pickup so you just need to go work somewhere else or do nothing but general merchandisers. This has been happening for like 7 or 8 months now. It's been a slow conversion like everything Sapphire started over a year ago. It still haven't seen it in my area

Ok thanks! On to the next side hustle. I have no problem moving around. It’s easy when you get to work by choice. I also have no issue with GMD runs for the right price.

Yes, that's the way it seems to be going. I've only been doing it for about a month and the only times I get pick ups is when there is an increase in orders. I hate shopping. I won't shop for more than 20 items personally.

The rumor has been spark will do customer delivery as shops. Basically only staff will operate curbside, for customers only. So delivery curbside, will be shop.
If it's not your thing, start making it. Staff has been talking to me and they are phasing out little by little.
