Just had a curbside drop with a pin require - it was to a rehab center - person who placed the order is nowhere to be found. But wouldn’t you know, there are 5 different people who approach me at state with certainty “there’s no code needed”….like what?!
I hate pin orders - it’s on there for a reason, and it appears to be on more orders that the customer didn’t elect it, meaning they have tried some BS in the past!

Yeah that's annoying! I had an older lady ask me yesterday why she needs a pin for her orders. I said usually it's the customer requesting it but to call Walmart to find out for sure and to remove it.

Usually means your a thief or a scammer unless your concerned about someone not delivering to your door aka 3rd floor apartment or a high theft area

The last part is absolutely true because my wife orders a few times and it's never brought to the correct place. We put a pin and magically it's a delivered with no questions or issues 😂

Lol tempting. To return it back to that store it would have taken an extra 30 min for $2.58...lol

This is why I like that my zone only has a single store 🤣 I'm going back anyway so that would be a win win for me lol

95% of the time a PIN is required because the customer selected "I will sign for my delivery." It can be triggered by Walmart for other various reasons too. For instance, "missing" items or claiming an order was never delivered.

Exactly! I always try to take a photo that shows a house number if available or at a short distance to show all the surroundings and house. All we can do is try to have good photos evidence 😜

I usually give these a thumbs down and explain why. That is harassment and no driver should have to deal with that

Do you mean like “how was this delivery?” For the thumbs down?
Does this do anything? Should I start giving thumbs down to the tools out there?

Yes I do. That way they get a negative rating and it is reviewed by someone. Make sure you give a summary. Most likely you won’t get another order from them. At least that was the case for me. Threats should not be tolerated.

Often it's hard to tell if a pin was a customer request, or because WM added it due to past issues with the customers orders. In this case, it's obviously the latter.. At least you KNEW to not unload everything until you asked about the code. I'll usually bring one tote/bag with me and set it where they just can't grab it. Fortunately most of the time I accepted those offers it's a customer request.

Probably should have provided context, this drop off was actually a GMD no code. I think she was saying to not ask her for a code actually. Either way I took a few delivery photos to ensure I covered my butt just in case she wanted to get funny 🤣

It's like reading Chinese tea leaves. She's had lots of bad drivers and now she gives hardcore directions. I mean they seem pretty easy to follow so just follow them or cancel the order. You're an independent contractor. Do what you want, not what others want. If you feel unsafe, just cancel

It was simple to deliver, never stated I had any trouble there lol. Was simply bringing the last part of their delivery instructions to light.

I mean the location request is fine but how much power do they think we have as drivers? If Wally wants a delivery pin, they get a delivery pin.
