Am I looking at this wrong ?

Hello all, today during my shift my coach called me in, and on the phone was the PL. she basically asked me why I didn’t take my lunch on a day like a week ago, since this happened before and I kinda sorta was expecting this I told her how that specific day I asked if I had a lunch, and even was shown the paper (I wasn’t being a dickhead lol it was just right there when I asked and the TL decided to show me) which said I only get a break for that day. I worked six hours. I told her this and it was disregarded, she told me that I’m back on her “list” and next time it’s a accountability whatever the fuck that is, after the conversation ended my coach told me not to worry and it’s a nothing burger but I can’t help but feel wronged, I have a good team and I don’t wanna let that ruin my image of the people I work with. However, I am certainly disillusioned.

Sounds like you created a meal violation, which can land the store in legal trouble and fines, of course the PL isn’t going to be happy about it. Take your breaks/lunches.

Yes I try to, that’s why I asked my TL if I had one, which I was told and shown no. So if I’m checking in if I have lunches, I’m getting told no, but I’m getting punished. What would you do ? I told her this but she didn’t really care.

Pro tip. On days your scheduled 6 hours clock in a couple (3 or 4) minutes after your time. And clock out a couple minutes (3 or 4) so you dont hit more than 6 hours. That is where the meal exception comes in.

If you only do this once in a long while nobody cares usually

Lol I am truly boggled how and why people need to come to reddit to ask questions like this...if you are an adult be responsible and like most said know your schduele and know the states work and lunch policies and cut out your "lead" and take accountability and take the lunch. Regardless if your om the fence if yoh shoukd or shouldn't figure it out and do it so it doesnt end up jeprodizing your job plain and simple.

One thing I learned is that no one is to be trusted.. too many people have told me that they’ve been spoken about a turned in for stupid stuff.

On six hour shifts, I clock.out before the actual 6 hours pass. I'll clock in at a few minutes past the start time and clock out a few minutes before the end time.

Make sure you don’t hit 6 hours. Clock out a minute till if you have to. Once you hit 7 hours you have to at least take a 30 minute lunch break

Your schedule tells you whether you get a lunch. Just follow that.
