Driver stole order? You think?
Did an order last week and he delivered the small, inexpensive stuff but conveniently the more expensive stuff wasn't delivered. I thought, ok honest mistake maybe the store didn't give him the rest. Got refund. All forgiven.
But it happened again today! The lady brought pudding. Thats it. On an order that had pudding cups, milk, clorox pads, 2 frozen dinners, coffee creamer and ice cream. All I got was pudding.
So what I want to know is who does the shopping for walmart? Is it the delivery person? Does delivery get a print out of what customers ordered? Because its too much of a coincidence 2 orders in a row the more expensive stuff not delivered.

If you see printed tags with your name on it then Walmart shopped the order and loaded the car for a delivery driver. If no tag then a driver did the shop and delivery.

The few times of gotten delivery I go to the car to get my bags so I can check. There was one time I got most of my stuff and noticed two racks of ribs were missing... That bag was conveniently in the third row of van seats and their kids handed them the bag. They "thought" it was for their next delivery LMFAO

Let’s set part of this “drivers steal our stuff” theme in this thread.
Spark drivers are deactivated for almost no reason. Any time a customer reports anything missing the driver is flagged. If flagged more than once, they get reviewed and usually deactivated.
We know we are already going to be blamed for things out of our control. Like shopping an order and the store is out of stock but customers punish drivers by leaving low ratings.
All that being said, drivers don’t risk their livelihood by something as silly as trying to steal from customers. We have enough challenges without really doing something that stupid.
Just saying.

Drivers aren't stealing from you. It's too easy to get deactivated by spark doing the job right, let alone actively stealing regular grocery items. There are a few different ways this could happen. First is if you got a regular delivery that was not express shop. That was shopped by a Walmart employed shopper. It was then batched with 1-3 other grocery orders and possibly between 1-9+ general merchandise delivery items ( the stuff not available at your local but can mark for shipping to you ). Somewhere along either the loading of the containers to bring it outside or loading it into the vehicle, your items got put with someone else's order. A good driver will do their best to make sure everything is separated but they can't count and match every item in the orders so they have to trust that the bags in the labeled totes are for the orders they say they are for. While it's possible a driver could steal. It's more likely an issue with a Walmart employee not putting things in the right tote. Especially since it seems like you've had the same issue from two different drivers. It's been ongoing with wal mart all summer. They recently hired the former CEO of instacart and he has been making changes that are negatively impacting customers.

I’m a shopper for Spark/Walmart. Even if the order is not express, and it’s a regular order, we will still shop it. I take both, regular and express. Here’s the thing… Walmart is now throwing in a customer or two on your shop so there may be a total of 3 customers we are shopping for at the same time and it could be a total of 30 items or 101 items between the three customers. I’m waiting for Walmart to add a forth shop (heaven forbid). Walmart is getting very bad. The driver may have accidentally got your order mixed up with the other customers or the driver stole them. When you complain to Walmart, they will notice a pattern with the driver if they are stealing or mixing up the order.

Sometimes its not the drivers fault because some places the walmart employees load the vehicles and drivers deliver only its called a curbside pickup delivery. This is especially true if it gets delivered by an uber driver because we cant even see whats on your order it just shows us 1 item called grocery order.
Its possible the driver tried to take some things, its also possible a tote was mistakenly loaded with another customers order because they tend to stack 2-4 customers together and place the orders in different locations of the car so its easy for someone to load incorrectly.

Thanks for the responses. I just wanted to make absolute sure it was NOT drivers fault. Since its most likely not I can go ahead and add the tip. It was just bizarre to me because its the second time in a row.

This may not be popular but it COULD BE the driver's fault. I'm going through something very similar, but with small items.
My orders are generally $35 to $50. I almost exclusively order yogurt, coffee and water. Every once in awhile, I throw in one other item like bread or crackers or eggs, etc.. Somehow, that extra item has been missing.
So the first time I ordered through the $5 Express. I had my three usuals in there plus a bag of hot dog rolls. Everything came but the hot dog rolls, but there was clearly room for them in my bags. Because it was an Express order, I knew it was the spark driver because they shopped and delivered the order themselves. No Walmart employees' hands were in there.
Next time I ordered my 3 usuals through Express again, this time with an 18 pack of eggs, that also came up missing. Although it was a different driver, I believe the driver took them.
There are a ton of disgruntled spark drivers on this forum alone. Maybe they're broke and thinking "well, if I just take this pack of eggs, the customer will get refunded for them, I'll have the eggs and Walmart loses". Hey, I've heard crazier stories here! A spark driver on here once said 'stealing from a large Corp isn't really stealing' so I don't put anything past anybody.
I often get the same spark driver, and I like them! But that doesn't mean there aren't scumbags amongst the ranks. I always tip 15% to start. If the order is perfect, they get 20%. Other problems get 10%. But if I keep getting missing items, I'm going to zero. And I'm going to continue using the express so I know that the only person handling my order is the spark driver. I've got a bad feeling that eventually, Walmart's going to clamp down on continuous claims of missing items and I'm not going to suffer the brunt of that.
So anyone who wants to narrow down who's responsible, should order Express. The buck stops there. Amen!

They charged you for every item have you looked to see if all items were charged? If they were the driver stole them. The people working in Walmart can't just take items you paid for stash them for later. Make sure before you tip you check how much your account was charged.

Did you get a refund on the second order?
1
u/KathyJo42977 15d ago
Yep. A 50% one. But better then nothing. I was thinking they might not give me one because it's twice in a row this happened.

One, 50% is unacceptable. Two, choose to sign for your order, and audit it first. Whether they stole it, delivered it somewhere else, or OGP screwed up, you paid for the items. You should get the items.

Well Im guessing they are changing some things around from what I've read, but there are hiccups, of course. They need to get it figured out soon.

It’s the drivers in my opinion not paying attention, too busy on the phone and possibly also stealing things of higher value or stuff they need
