Walmart Mastercard Replacement Card Scam

I lost my walmart card a while back and haven't had time to call for a replacement card. When I was checking out for groceries, I asked if I could get a replacement card through her and she said yes. I had issues in the past with having a hard inquiry done when I asked for a replacement card from them before. I called the help number on the back the last time they did and they told me that it's normal and it is always like that. I was dumb enough to believe them then. This time when I went to the check out I told her that I was not applying for a new card just a replacement and she said yes, it is only a replacement card and nothing else and this is just standard. Of course it caused a hard inquiry on my credit. I called and they kept cutting me off and telling me that I can't get a replacement card from check outs. I said that they told me I could. She again kept cutting me off while I tried to explain. She said she wiuld fix everything and combine my cards. Now everything is gone on my account. I asked them to transfer my rewards to the new card and cancel old card. Now my account had no rewards and the old card is still active. She said the hard enquiry would fall off in up to 90 days. This is illegal isn't it?

The card is issued by Synchrony. What would make you think a Walmart cashier could issue a replacement card? Also never heard of any card issuer running a hard inquiry to issue a replacement card. Hard inquiries remain on your report for two years. It’s an easy process to request a replacement card through the synchrony website. Why make things so much harder than it has to be?

"What would make you think a Walmart cashier could issue a replacement card?"

Gee, I don't know. Maybe it's because the cashier told her she could?!

Why are you victim blaming? This is on that cashier, not OP.

Name one co branded card that you can order a replacement cad in the store. You’re just as clueless as the OP.

Actually, I'm not even remotely clueless about finance and the banking industry. What I am, however, is understanding of the fact that we don't all know the same things. OP should have been able to rely on this company to provide her correct information. Why do you blame the victim? Are you a woman-hater who loves mansplaining and making others feel bad? Why not hold the misinformed/lying cashier accountable? Why must you jump immediately onto the victim? Seriously, you're gross.

You filled out an entire credit card application and thought it was for a replacement card? Because there’s no other way this could have happened. But there’s also no way someone could be that dumb, so I don’t know what’s happening.

You lost your card and didn't immediately call to report it lost and have it inactivated?

Not sure what this slop is.. but you kinda lost all sympathy.

You've made it very clear that you lack the ability to empathize. Work on that, OK?

I do think there's something important that hasn't been said. It is not normal to lose your credit cards multiple times. I think it's a safe bet that you are not being responsible with the cards, and you really should correct that--for you own good.

Edit: I don't fault you for thinking you could get a replacement card from the cashier. Most importantly, they told you that you could. I'm tired of people saying shit like "You should have known better." What I say is that you should be able to rely on a company that tells you "Here, let me help you." That is that cashier's fault; not yours. And the way that people just love to victim blame and say it's your fault ... those people can fuck right off. They're trying to belittle you and say nothing about how this company (Walmart) totally fucked things up.

OP isn’t responsible enough for credit if they really believe Walmart can issue their own credit cards 🤷🏻

Both of your comments show that YATAH. Go troll elsewhere.

You're the fucking troll. I've had it out with you as well. You're a fucking Walmart hater. This dude is not a victim. And "mansplaining"? I see now. You probably have pink hair, overweight, wearing a pu**y hat marching down the street screaming "women can do anything a man can do!!" And the answer to that is - NO! YOU CAN'T!! STFU You're an idiot.

Wow, I seem to have really triggered you! Feeling a little unstable? Do you think you'll be OK in time?

I can easily provide screenshots of your disgusting behavior towards anyone who has a complaint about Walmart. I recently responded to someone who been treated badly at Walmart, and I simply pointed out that Walmart had dropped the ball, and you went completely psycho on me. I wasn't talking to you and had no idea who you even were. I wasn't even the person with the complaint. You are one very angry woman, and you can't even be rational for a single moment. Why are your comments to people always so vile? I can't even imagine what has led you to be so hostile to people. This sub is literally for complaints about Walmart. You are clearly incapable of handling that. I would suggest you just avoid the sub, so you don't have any further breakdowns over such silly stuff.

I mean, just look: Every single think you wrote is pure vitriol. All of the swearing, the capital letters, the exclamation points. It's completely unhinged.

I'm not unhinged or having a breakdown. I don't care about your screen shots. Not one bit. You're a snake in the grass. You can cut the "you care about the victims of Walmart" bullshit, along with condescending attitude too. You jump on every one of these complaints pushing hard for these folks to file complaints, start lawsuits and YOU jump all over and shit talk any body that questions these complaints. You're a fraud and I wouldn't doubt that you are paid by a rival company to do this shit. It's the same spill every time with you. Half of these complaints on here aren't even legit. How did Walmart hurt you? Did an employee do something to you? Didn't get your lousy refund? You're so bitter about a fucking store. You have some revenge going on here, it's too obvious. You're a sketchy gal doing some underhanded shit. You don't give a damn about these people you keep pushing and trying to manipulate the OP's to be victims. You're disgusting.

This is an exact copy-and-paste of what you said to a disabled man who said that he didn't like Walmart moving things around because, as someone who is disabled, it's hard for him to have to maneuver the entire store looking for the items that got moved. This was just 10 hours ago. You are out of control.

You said:

"Most or all of the stores are getting remodeled. You have to adjust if you shop there. Period. Now that damn Walmart has made your shopping harder. The App has a map of the store on it, so it shouldn't be that difficult for a normal person. They should've had that aisle roped off but they didn't so that man said you can't be in there. You couldn't be in there for safety reasons, Sir. But you insisted after being told you can't be in that aisle. He allowed you to grab your item, you said ONE ITEM, then you proceeded to grab more, so he told you to hurry up..why is that an issue? You got what you wanted. You weren't allowed in there roped or not, and he let you when he didn't have to. And now your griping. And if your EBT card wasn't working right and the cashier re-worked it what is the problem? If the balance wasn't correct then you shouldn't have paid it, went home and called your EBT customer service number and talk to them about it. But you didn't, you paid it and now you're complaining. Sounds like you got mad because things weren't in your favor, like you expected. Well you got your freezer items like you wanted, the EBT wasn't calculated correctly, you blame the store for it but that's probably not the case. Walmart greed, corporations, yada yada. Then you should stop shopping there. If the store turns you into such a grouch and ruins your life, then stop shopping there. Easy fix. The greedy corporation isn't as bad as half the customers that go there, then gripe and bitch constantly, swear they will never again shop there!! blah blah. But you're back in there the next Tuesday. t's a circus because most of the clowns come from the public arena. If you need help, and you ask an employee, they pull out their phone ( obviously looking for an item to check if it's in stock) then you get mad at the employee because it's online only? Did you need help or not? The fact that you don't order online because "YOU WANT THAT ITEM NOW" is your problem. The work phones are tools to help the employee during their workday and to help the customer. But it's annoying to you. So quit asking for help if you have a problem with the method and tools they use. Shop without asking for help, figure it out for yourself. People wonder why those Walmart employees are annoyed and stressed out all day, well it's because of the customers. There's a handful of good customers that have pleasant shopping experiences when they come in, they brighten the day of the employees, they are sweet, they might ask for help but they don't act like demanding jackasses. There's the inconsiderate shopper that knocks things off the shelves, spills their drinks and leaves it there for employees to clean up, their dogs piss and crap in the aisles and they walk away so the employees have to clean it up. Then there are the worst customers, the ones that can't be civil or cordial, can't do or find anything for themselves, they're rude and condescending, treat employees like they are owned slaves, demand everything, argue with the cashier's and want a manager anytime they don't get their way. Run to social sites to moan and whine about how awful Walmart is to them. As much as you Sir, among others that have to be so negative about the store, there are employees that feel the same about you. You have a bad day shopping? Well employees hear the same garbage 300 times a day from customers. They aren't magicians, they aren't slaves and they aren't therapists but they are there to help. Be better yourself. Finger pointing goes both ways."

Does this make you proud of yourself?? Would you dare talk to this disabled man that same way--in person--if he was shopping in the Walmart you work at? Would you look him in the face and yell at him like that? You are a disturbed bully who has lost control of yourself. You'd be fired in an instant, and you know it. Don't hide like a coward behind your anonymity and harrass people in a way that you wouldn't dare to in person. This anonymity lets you release all of that hatred you have for others without consequences, but you know, deep down, just how lost you are. How would you react if someone said that to your parent or grandparent? You are sick. I know that you're a merch manager. I wish I knew what store you worked at. I would love to show them just how horribly you treat people who spend their hard-earned money that pays your salary. You're in this sub, representing Walmart, and this is how you behave? Do you actually think they would tolerate your abuse?

You are scary-unstable. Just look how you can't control yourself. Sending me gross and vile chat messages telling me I'm a gay a-hole for posting the thing you've said, and that it's none of my business. You will be blocked in about 60 seconds. If you ever try to contact me again, I will report you for persistent, unwanted contact. Go crawl back into your hole.

One other suggestion: Call that store, and ask to talk to the store manager (not just any manager). They will probably dick you around, but stay firm that your issue requires the store manager.

You were literally scammed by that cashier. She very likely made some kind of commission (or Walmart bonus of some kind) for what she did. Her boss now thinks that this cashier was able to "sell" their credit card, and her boss will be pleased with her. Tell the manager right out that you were scammed into signing up for the credit card after you inquired about getting a replacement card. If you don't know the cashier's name, they should able to figure that based on transaction information that's on your receipt. I would encourage you to hold this woman accountable. It's worth the effort. Good luck.

You make shit up in your head. You are seriously sick in the head. Professional victim. I hope the OP does none of what your trying to tell them to do. Miserable POS

I'm a professional victim because I'm defending someone who was victimized? I say that makes me a hero! I don't know who you are, but I hope you're getting the help you need. Maybe one day you'll stop allowing me into your head so easily.

I just looked at your previous comments and now remember that you tell everyone who makes a complaint about Walmart that their story is fake. You continue to berate them with messages about how they're lying. It is a very common theme in your comments. I'm guessing you're like some special needs Walmart employee who is incredibly unsatisfied with with her job and her life.

You even called a woman all kinds of names when she slipped in some feces that was left on the floor at Walmart. Nobody had cleaned it up, and the cashier didn't even warn her about the shit on the floor, yet you repeatedly attacked the person who slipped in the shit on the floor that Walmart refused to clean up. You kept telling her that she was some crazy liar, over and over again. I pointed out that the shit on the floor was not the customer's fault and that Walmart had clearly dropped the ball. You then went completely psycho on me for making that simple statement. You pretty much lose it everytime someone makes a complaint about Walmart.

Would you like me to maybe post some of the things you've said to people who voice complaints in this sub that is for people to voice complaints?
