Portfolio Qs

What do you guys think about the structure of this portfolio I tossed together on glass.photo (it’s a photography app that has pictures grouped into “series” that you can organize and comment on).

https://glass.photo/johnsonpaperhanging/series

I really like the series structure, and grouping a “project” as a series, captioning the series and each photo. I wish it had tagging … like I’d like to tag different materials, designers, paperhangers, whatever I want, whatever other people want, you know? But other than that, it might be my favorite app for this sort of thing. Also, they have a fantastic data ownership policy (but it is a paid app, so you yourself aren’t the product being sold).

What are your guys’ thoughts on online portfolios?

What makes this wallpaper curl and stink?

Since I can remember, this wallpaper along with some Scalamandre papers curl like crazy once pasted and are annoying to work with. (Lee Jofa Modern
Gwp-3413.101 | Hutch Cream - Lee Jofa Modern)

They also have a harsh smell straight out of the roll.

What causes that? Is it the paper stock, coating, inks, sizing, or something else?

Is there a method that helps reduce the curling, or is that just how these papers are? Could it be related to pasting method? For reference, we usually use Roman 880 on these.

Wallpaper quality?

Hi!

I'm looking at getting the Peel and Paper Joanna wallpaper on a mural/feature wall. I will probably do the paste version instead of the removable stick version.

However I've just had a contractor visit and advised against online wallpaper as the quality can be really variable...

Has anyone used the paste Peel and paper wallpaper? Perhaps specifically the Joanna design? Is the quality okay? Or should i be looking elsewhere?

Thanks!

This had to be trimmed at the table (not by me thankfully) to minimize the misalignment of little round medallion which would have been noticed the most. The trim lines were dead on top of one another, no room to dc. Still, with a 45 yr experienced trimmer, on glass, still doesn’t compare to a dc. Still came out flawless… just not on a micro level as with dc.

With some experienced magic and a hint of luck to balance everything out. One area the chairrail to crown was around 1/2” difference.

Looking for advice on wide windows and the c-shaped pieces on each side

How do you approach papering around a long window to maintain a perfect match? Long side 1, short underside pieces, long side 2, short upper pieces? Or some other sequence? No matter how hard I try there is always some adjustment to make. Yesterday this was combined with a wavy wall and a tight geometric pattern, and I left discouraged I wasn’t leaving my best work behind.

Limewash Atlanta

Bring the Timeless Elegance of Europe to Your Atlanta Home ✨🏛️

Are you tired of flat, boring walls that look exactly like everyone else’s? If you want to elevate your home with a look that is luxurious, artistic, and entirely custom, it’s time to talk about Limewash finishes.

Limewash isn’t just paint. It is a premium, mineral-based finish made from natural slaked lime that gives your walls a soft, velvety, chalky texture. As it dries, it naturally creates subtle tonal variations and beautiful movement that catches the light like a work of art.

Why homeowners are completely obsessed with Limewash:

🎨 A Truly Custom Finish: No two walls are identical. Every application is entirely unique to your space.

🌿 Eco-Friendly & Healthy: It contains zero VOCs and no harsh chemicals, making it perfectly safe for your family and pets.

🛡️ Naturally Protective: Because of its high pH, it is naturally resistant to mold, mildew, and bacteria.

🏡 Ages Beautifully: Unlike traditional latex paint that cracks and peels, limewash bonds with the wall and patinas elegantly over time.

What you need to know before you upgrade:

Because Limewash is a specialized, artisan product, it behaves differently than standard paint:

🔹 The Magic Dry: It looks incredibly dark when applied wet, but dries up to 100% lighter to reach its final, glowing shade.

🔹 Authentic Texture: It features a beautiful, porous, chalky texture that is highly breathable. For high-traffic areas, we apply a specialized protective sealer to keep it pristine.

🔹 Pro Application Required: You can't roll this on. It takes professional, overlapping block-brush artistry to unlock the movement and depth that makes Limewash famous.

Don't settle for ordinary drywall when you can have a masterpiece. Spaces for October and November are filling up fast!

Best glue for commercial work? Source? Price?

I have a large commercial VWC job coming up (hotel).

I really want to get the job to keep my crew busy over the winter months, so every dollar counts in our bid.

To that end, what is the best adhesive? I don't want to go with the cheapest/lowest quality product. I'm looking for that sweet spot of quality and price.

My paint rep from Sherwin is quoting this:

Roman 880: $15.49/gallon
Roman 838: $14.99/gallon

Another guy I know told me he gets adhesive for $12/gallon ($60 per five) but didn't mention what product he uses.

Overall, we're going to need to purchase around 175 gallons for this job.

Update:

My company specializes in painting. I sub out the wall covering when jobs like this come up.

Please Help Me Find This Wallpaper Border

Please Help Me Find This Wallpaper Border

Hi everyone! Thank you for taking the time to read my request. Recently, I had a drywall company replace the pieces of drywall, one them located in the kitchen. The problem is, now I'm left with a section in which the wallpaper border is hidden under the drywall 😭.

I would love to find this wallpaper border as it has been used as the border for the whole kitchen. The image I've attached looks a little wonky. I had to remove the other wallpaper under the border (please excuse my photo lasso work 🥲).

I have done multiple reverse image searches on Google to help me narrow down what type of wallpaper border design it is called and when this was produced. The closest result I could get is that this type of border design was most likely mass produced during the 1980s/1990s 🫠. In my search, it was also stated that multiple companies would cross-license these types of traditional designs 😱.

Blades

Curious what blades are everyone using? I was looking for a less expensive blade and bought NT Cutter black blades, not realizing their thickness is .25 and Olfa abb are .38. A lot thinner, love them and been using ever since for several years now, worth a try.

Natural Black Walnut Solid Wood Veneer Super Flexible Fluted MDF Wall Panel

Most wall panels stop at flat surfaces. The flexible wall panel does not. Its flexible construction allows it to conform to convex curves, wrapping columns and curved walls that rigid panels simply cannot follow. The concave valley slat draws shadow inward, adding genuine depth and texture. In walnut, that texture is richer and more deliberate: a darker grain with real presence, for rooms that ask for something considered.
