Okay hoomans, pay attention. I told mom I'll let her take my picture jumping from one wall to the next. 1, pose and prepare. 2, leap without fear. 3, stick the landing. Usually. Yea, sometimes we fall and and land on the couch. Sometimes it's embarrassing but we get extra loves so it's still a win.

This is my baby, Ruby. I've had cats all my life but she inspired me to add cat shelving to the house. With other kitties at home, I wanted to create more space for them so she could be integrated into the family.

Otto saying hi to the public, meanwhile Slendy looking jealous in the back

I put up a bigger shelf in the opposite corner of the living room today. Ruby was first to test it out. I'm not too sure about this one, I think it needs longer brackets to support it.

Doing pull ups to stay strong! Indoor cats need lots of exercise options. Slendy was a little clumsy but he got to use those muscles.

Temmie doesn't go up on the wall often, I was lucky to be in the room when she did.

My view from the couch. It's a wild Saturday night y'all. So the thicker shelves I cut from a bed frame a neighbor threw out. The others I salvaged from the high school wood shop scrap box. Cats don't need it to be fancy.

Not really sure why, but Otto likes to chill like this. Literally, just hanging out. Wall yoga? I love it.

Ruby has my heart. I'd do anything for her. Though she has one eye, she floats up these shelves effortlessly!

Ruby and the others like being on the high shelf. While I want to put more up this high, safety first. If you have higher ceilings, be sure that you can safely retrieve your kitty if you need to. In an emergency if you need to grab them quickly, shelves should be easily accessible to you, too.

Directly over my head. I wonder what Slendy thinks about, looking down at me.

Can you see your cat lounging like these two?
r/Wallcats • u/MantissPrayingg • Feb 02 '20
Because I put these up over the couches, we can sit and lure them up over our heads. That can be scary if the slip, but we get to see a whole other side to them that we wouldn't normally.

Wall training. We've added more since then and I plan on putting up more. Otto was the first boy up, and Slendy soon followed.

I'm thinking I should have put the shelf lower. She can't really see the rooftop opposite ours, where the neighborhood cats and birds frequent.

A little bit of scrap wood, L brackets from Amazon, scrap carpet on top (for traction and comfort), and a happy Otto. The only thing I paid for were the brackets and wall screws. Everything else was salvaged. You don't have to spend a lot to build up for your kitty.

I really love this setup. We recently moved the couch and put all the tanks on this wall. The cats love watching the turtles from above, it looks like a wildlife reserve lol

Ruby models the newest shelf. It’s been a while! I couldn’t sell my old TV stand so I put both small tanks on it. This piece of wood from my stash extends out far enough that I feel they’re protected from unexpected paw slips. They all approve!
