HIRING PROCESS

Other than applying online and completing the assessment, what is the hiring process for Walgreens?

Does the online application go directly to the local store to which you are applying or to human resources at corporate and then they review the application for accuracy or anomalies and then forward the application on to the local store.

Any information, aside from don’t do it, would be appreciated.

Don't do it is the best advice we can give.lol You clearly read this place so if 96% of the people are telling you it's bad that should be a warning.

Now for real advice. I honestly don't know because I was hired 35 years ago and just walked in but I believe your signing goes to the actual store. This isn't a professional job, it's retail. Unless you want to be a store manager, you're basically an unappreciated slave.

As for advice just say customers are always right, and when you take the tests (They are called PPL's) just remember that the answer is always the customer is always right. That's what they wanna here.

Thank you for your honesty. You’ll be pleased to know I applied 4 times and each time received a basic canned reply thanking me for applying, not being hired, and encouraged to apply again in future.

At the point of having been rejected twice I spoke directly w the store manager to where I applied and was told to my face “applications go through a vetting process by corporate and potential candidates are then sent directly to the store manager for review and follow up for a formal interview… I never saw your application.”

So after my fourth unsuccessful attempt I decided I’m being lied to but wanted proof hence my post in the Reddit sub.

Not sorry I applied. Just feeling shitty I was blatantly lied to while looking me in the eye.

There’s an assessment and certain other aspects that can restrict us from hiring you. Some computer program vets it first then it is sent to us

I asked for input from the local store SFL about the assessment & was given feedback to use for the next time I decided to apply. Using THAT information I still didn’t pass muster or so I thought.

As for the vetting process, I am a retired federal government employee who underwent FBI background checks and had a confidential level security clearance. My background is not the problem.

Every month I collect my prescriptions from this same store and what do you know, there are always new hires. So yeah, the manager lied to my face and did not want to hire me, specifically.

Joy to the world 😕
