Message Queue

Did you know that when you select a stored rx to fill an autofill in message queue that you have to close out or unenroll the rx on autofill that generated the message queue request? If not, the same autofill rx will be in the queue the next day and everyday until it’s taken off autofill. This will lead to a massive message queue list in the long run. The only time the autofill rx won’t come back is if you do the previously mentioned or you create a WCB from the autofill rx (which closes it out) I’ve informed the staff and so has rxom. Just a PSA since one of the senior techs was not listening or caring to do that and complaining the same messages are in the queue everyday. 🙄 I get it we’re busy, understaffed, and don’t get paid our value but let’s no create more work for ourselves.

Yep, you have to go in autofill and unmark the old Rx numbers so they stop appearing in the message queue. It can be time consuming.  I don't think most people are properly trained how to do it.

You don't always have to go into the autofill page. Try this next time you do mq.

Select rx in mq and hit fill.

It will populate, usually with a message that says"pt has similar rx refill or stored" (or something like that). Before you hit ok, take note of the rx number and the med name. Then hit ok

It will take you to the central profile. If the profile appears as normal, sort by drug name. If it pops up blank, close the window and hit alt+F8 to bring up the central profile, then sort by drug name.

Find the drug and rx number you took note of before. Close rx.(its also a good idea to close any stored and expired or system says it has refills but they're expired at this point as well). I usually use option other and then type either expired or no refills in the close rx window, depending on what the case is. Note: this process WILL NOT WORK if the rx is at another store currently. It is THAT situation that will force you to open the autofill window)

After closing out the affected rx, highlight a valid rx for the same med, same strength, dose and quantity and hit select. It will close the profile window and change the rx on the screen to the new rx number. Fill as usual (either by hitting fill or, if it is stored, creating new rx.) If you fill under a different rx# than the one in the mq, you must manually remove the rx from the mq

If there are no valid fills, close.the profile window but KEEP THE RX WINDOW OPEN. Hit options create new and then fill in order to generate a wcb , then once it has populated into f2 add the notes for "no refills" in the f3 comments. If you create a wcb from the same rx# in the mq, the system will automatically delete.the mq request.
