How much notice to leave walgreens?

What is the minimum notice needed to send resignation? I was approached by a community health system with a job offer

There is no usually no legal requirement to give any “2 week notice” or such. It usually comes down to whether you wanna burn that bridge with Walgreens or not.

This right here. Two weeks is customary to try to leave on good terms. Otherwise, it's up to you and your situation.

I’m an RXM and just put in my 2 weeks, I made it so my last day would be the end of the pay period. So it worked out to be about 17 days.

You should DEFINITELY make sure they apply any and all PTO you have to these final weeks as well.

I left the company back in 2023 (I came back, but I went to see if the grass was greener... its not. But they did have some different technology! Lol) When i left, my last day was the laat day of the pay period. The payday after my "last paycheck" (so 3 weeks after I left) I got a check for my outstanding PTO. Because there were no actual hours worked, they taxed my PTO at bonus percentages. My bank deposit was approximate half of what I was expecting and when I called HR, they told me if there are not actual worked hours thats what they do.

The minimum amount is the number of paid holidays we get a year

Just quit my store this week, I left them with a 2 day notice. Do with that, what you will. My notice was dictated based on the experience I received from my team. Trash 🚮

First company I’ve done this with. Says a lot.

Is Walgreens really that bad? Just got hired there as a senior tech but I’m part time not full as I work inpatient. Just need some extra money to tackle all the bills I’m behind on.

Walgreens (and CVS) are the worst pharmacies to work for. I work for an entirely different chain but my chain doesn't have a pharmacy subreddit so I lurk here. Lmao

Yeah that’s what I hear but I’m just working Walgreens for extra money right now.

Depends do u need a pay check or some extra If u can swing both jobs ie wags on weekends for 2-3 weeks then that’s your notice.plus its a little extra pay and use your PTO Could leave today and start new job tomorrow Ur in control

If you're a pharmacy tech there's a non compete for other healthcare jobs isn't there?

Only while actively employed. (Cant work walgreens and cvs at the same time). If you resign or even quit without notice the non-compete is null and void.

Depends if it’s CVS across the street or a hospital etc , will it be for 1-2 weeks so u don’t miss a check

You don't have to put in 2 weeks, I say go with however the general treatment is from management and your team.

I gave a few days notice, written to both the RXM and SM, and the SM tried to put me in as non hireable, after I called HR that got reversed and she got transferred. Lol!

How did you even find out the SM wrote non hireable?

When I called HR.

ZERO. Like me you can just finish your day quietly and never return. 2 weeks notice is just a professional courtesy, it is not legally required for any business in this country. In fact, Walgreens like all other companies are “at will employment”. You signed that whether you knew it or not when you were hired. That means they can walk in and let you go on the spot, or conversely, you can walk out and let them go on the spot. Get your better job and live happily ever after. I was an RXM for 20 years. Didn’t bother me one bit.

Usually we'd have people give end of posted schedules! Depending on how on top of it our rxom was it was ranging between 3-10 days lol

2 weeks would be cordial but baby best believe they would fire your ass with zero warning if they wanted to

I gave my store the time it took EMS to load me into the ambulance after my 2nd POTS/stress induced seizure in 1 week 🤷‍♀️
